This Arts Programme this week is a 2 hour special outside broadcast from The Roscommon Arts Centre. Ursula Ledwith is joined by co presenter RosFM's Joe Bambrick.
The programme recognised the importance of the Centre in the community. Guests included; Noel & Dymphna Molloy who were part of the original group who looked for funds. Kevin Woods and Juley-Ann Collins chatted about day to day, year to year contribution to the Arts Centre. Jimmy Hoban, Bernie Maher and Tom Costello chatted about the importance of the Centre to the groups that use it and facilities available, Tom shared a little know fact about the first play on stage. Stan Lee had just entertained a full house full of National School Children with the production of The Big Egg. Julia Goodwin joined the party bringing a pot of Strawberry Jam from Funky Farms Foods as a prize and reading one of her poems for the group, joined by Amanda. Kathleen Sheridan called out the name of the winner of the Jam, Mary Lennon. Presenter John Ralph dropped by on his way to his show, Not Simply Rock on RosFM. Grainne Hunt sang one of her songs live. Remembering Mother's Day, Ursula read out a poem, 'My Mammy Clare'. Singer/Songwriter, Bianca Fachel celebrating her first day of residence in Roscommon Arts Centre and 15 years living in Ireland chatted about life, music and her new work on 'The Souls of Ranelagh' and played a number of her songs she has written. The guests chatted about Jacinta Lynch, RIP, first Manager of The Arts Centre, her colleagues and The Arts programme remembering her.
