Happy New Year! On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek looks back at some of his favorite features and segments from the past 12 months. He’ll revisit his interview with former Chicago Tribune jazz critic Howard Reich, who retired from the paper last January. Gary also brings back his one-on-one with renowned local artist Tony Fitzpatrick, who opened his final museum exhibit in 2021. Later, a look back at the Dueling Critics’ thoughts about Stephen Sondheim. And we’ll start the show off with a segment on an immersive art experience that was slated to close in the summer, but has continued to be extended all the way into 2022.
