What does it mean to heal our relationship with being seen?
In Part 2 of The Visibility Wound, Ashleie turns inward and explores what healing can look like when we stop waiting for the outside world to give us permission to be who we are.
Drawing from her own experiences, she reflects and shares how she has actively worked to heal her relationship with visibility, vulnerability, worth, and authenticity—and the realization that this healing is ultimately an internal job.
Because sometimes the permission we've been waiting for isn't coming from an audience, a partner, a leader, a client, a community, or the people we love.
It's ours to give ourselves.
This episode explores vulnerability with yourself, reconnecting with your core truth, letting go of the need to perform an identity, and creating space for the person beneath the roles, expectations, and protective versions of yourself.
Through the symbolism of the Sun, Ashleie reflects on what it means to reconnect with the deepest, most authentic expression of who you are—not who you've learned you need to be in order to be accepted, successful, impressive, or loved.
And ultimately, the question isn't simply “How do I allow myself to be seen?”
It's:
“Can I give myself permission to be?”
Journal With Me
At the end of the episode, Ashleie invites you to sit with two questions:
Who am I when nobody is watching?
and
If nobody validated this part of me, would I still believe it was valuable?
You don't need to have immediate answers. Let the questions work on you.
Because healing the visibility wound may not be about becoming more visible.
It may be about becoming more you, and trusting that your being has value before anyone else witnesses it.
Permission to be isn't something someone else gives you. It's something you give yourself.
