Welcome to the re-launch of the 'Ask Amberleigh' Podcast! Season 2 is starting off with a very exciting guest: Dr. Tyler Panzner, Ph.D in Molecular & Cellular Pharmacology and Holistic Genetic Health Optimization Coach.

In this episode, Tyler and Amberleigh sit down in Austin, TX, where they met at a biohacking conference. The two discuss their different backgrounds, their research, and their own unique experiences and perspectives that will bring you some of the most cutting-edge concepts to your health and changing your body.

For instance, Amberleigh talks about the power behind beliefs and emotions, and how those create an unwinding effect on the DNA. Tyler takes it further, saying that when your DNA unwinds, it unlocks the information in that gene and allows it to express, making that information accessible in your body to inform your cells how to operate more efficiently. Conversely, if the DNA tightens, it closes off access to that genetic expression and information, leaving your body unable to use that information for efficient biochemical processes. This is epigenetics 101, where your body has a hard-wiring genetic code, but your environment, experiences, beliefs, and emotions can dictate whether or not you're able to access those genetic codes of information to use for your health.

Why would you want to get your DNA/genes tested? Well, for instance, if you can see if you have any genetic mutations, like MTHFR, that can compromise your methylation and detoxification pathways, thus rendering your body inefficient at utilizing B vitamins properly, this can tell you why you may have mood swings, hormonal imbalances, anemia, and other issues. If you know what genetic mutations you're working with, then you can provide your body the right chemistry (supplements, etc.) that will help you optimize your health. This can further support "good genes" to then "turn on" and your "bad genes" to then "turn off" and lie dormant. This means that if you have a genetic predisposition to a mutation, if it's dormant, it won't get expressed or negatively impact your health.
