In this episode, I go over how I setup to image Bode’s Galaxy, M81. In the video we explore setting up the gear and using the ASIAIR to control everything to do the image, as well as stacking and processing the all the data into a final image. Besides the ASIAIR software, we go into Astro Pixel Processor and Pixinsight as well. The image is made up of just over 8 hours of data taken from home in New Jersey, less than 20 miles from Times Square in NYC.

Welcome to the AstroGuy Podcast, where we explore the vast universe of astronomy and space exploration. In this episode, we have a special guest, Peter Bealo, a board member of the American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO), to talk about some of his rare and antique telescopes and the work that he and other members of the AAVSO are doing.
Peter shares some interesting stories about his experiences with antique telescopes and related items. We then dive into the work of the AAVSO and their mission to advance the study of variable stars. Peter explains the importance of variable stars and how they can help us understand the universe better. He talks about the research being done by the AAVSO and the impact it can have on our understanding of the universe.
We also learn about the role of amateur astronomers in the work of the AAVSO and how anyone can get involved in this exciting field of astronomy. Peter shares some tips on how to get started in variable star observing and the resources available for amateurs.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in antique telescopes and the work of the AAVSO. Join us for an informative and engaging discussion with Peter Bealo. Thanks for tuning in to the AstroGuy Podcast.
