In this episode we meet, legend of Irish sport, John Treacy. Hailing from Villierstown, County Waterford, Treacy had a stellar career as an athlete winning back to back World Cross Country Championship titles, an epic performance to win silver in the Marathon at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and later in his career, becoming Chief Executive of Sport Ireland.

We meet athletics legend, Sebastian Coe, winner of four Olympic medals, including the 1500m gold medal at the Olympic Games in 1980 and 1984. He set nine outdoor and three indoor world records in middle-distance track events. He talks everything from his love of jazz to his infamous rivalry with Steve Ovett and his life long friendship with Daley Thompson.

In this episode we meet Trinidadian cricketer, Nicholas Pooran, one of the most exciting talents in the modern game. Pooran burst onto the cricket scene as teenager before a serious car accident in 2015 threatened to derail his budding career. Despite that set back, Nicholas emerged from the brink and is now the short format captain of the West Indies.

In episode three we meet, Daren Sammy… Two-time T20 World Cup winning captain with the West Indies, Daren was the first ever cricketer from the island of St. Lucia to break into the West Indies team. The All Rounder went on to represent the West Indies in all formats over the next decade becoming one of the most celebrated cricketers of his generation.

Shaka Hislop had a distinguished career in football as goalkeeper for clubs including Reading, Newcastle United, Portsmouth and West Ham and was a member of the first team to represent Trinidad &Tobago at the FIFA World Cup in 2006. It is, however his achievements off the pitch that have left a lasting legacy. Shaka is the founding patron and honorary president of the anti racism charity, SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD.

Jamie Heaslip is among Ireland’s most decorated rugby players who earned 100 caps for Ireland and the Lions and made 229 appearances for Leinster. Jamie talks about the impact of early retirement from the game in 2017, what he learned through his career and his outlook for the future.

As a player Orlagh Farmer is a six time All Ireland Senior Ladies Football Championship winner with Cork. She is also a coach, PE Teacher, lecturer and recently completed a PhD focusing primarily on the reason why so many girls drop out of sport at an early age. Orlagh also pays a moving tribute to her former coach, Eamonn Ryan who passed away.
