What happens when you spend years helping other people become better leaders, then decide to bet on yourself?
In this episode of The Audacity Podcast, I'm joined by Ericka Jarvis, founder of Good Enough Co., to talk about the realities of entrepreneurship, the pressure to have everything figured out, and why sometimes good enough is exactly what we need.
Ericka brings years of experience in leadership development and organizational effectiveness to a business built around a powerful idea: progress matters more than perfection.
We get into the freedom of working for yourself, the unexpected challenge of being the person who has to make every decision, imposter syndrome, and those moments when you wonder, "What am I even doing?"
Because having the audacity to start a business doesn't mean you suddenly stop doubting yourself.

And THAT is the audacity. ๐
Welcome to The Audacity Podcast! ๐๏ธ
Before I start sharing the stories of other women who had the audacity to bet on themselves, I figured it was only fair to tell you mine.
In this first episode, I'm taking you back to where it all started. From working my way up in corporate America to getting laid off twice in seven months and deciding to start Jordain Smith Creative.
We're talking about corporate burnout, imposter syndrome, learning to set boundaries, figuring things out as I go, and the reality of building a business when you have absolutely no idea what you're doing half the time.
Because entrepreneurship isn't always pretty, and I certainly don't have it all figured out.
So what's next?
Going forward, I'll be sitting down with women business owners to hear the real, unfiltered stories behind their businesses. The risks they took, the challenges they faced, the lessons they learned, and the moments that made them say, "Screw it, I'm doing this."
No sugarcoating. No pretending it's all sunshine and success stories.
Have a story to share?
I'm always looking for women entrepreneurs who are willing to get real about their journeys. Whether you're just getting started or you've been in business for years, I'd love to hear your story!

From the publisher's feed
Every woman has a moment. The moment she stopped waiting for permission. The moment she chose herself over everything that felt safe and familiar. The moment she decided her story was worth something.
The Audacity exists to celebrate those moments, and the women brave enough to live them out loud.
Hosted by Jordain Smith, this show features real conversations with women entrepreneurs who walked away from traditional employment to build something of their own. We talk about the turning points, the fear, the rebuilding, and the beautiful mess of betting on yourself. Because somewhere out there is a woman who needs to hear exactly what you went through to know she can do it too.
Shrinking never paid the bills. This show is proof.
