  • EPISODE 10: Expression Medicine - Reflections From A 30 Day Poetry Challenge

In this episode of The Audio Diaries, Lexi is joined by Mary and Victoria for a heartfelt conversation about their journey through a 30-day poetry challenge. Inspired by a Tara Brach podcast episode LINKED HERE , with Guest & Poet Rosemary Wahtola Trommer, the three committed to writing one poem every day for a month. Along the way, they uncovered profound insights about presence, emotional expression, and the healing power of words.

Together, they reflect on how this challenge became a transformative practice. They discuss the vulnerability of sharing personal work, the freedom found in solitude, and how poetry offers a direct channel to process emotions. Throughout the episode, they read selected poems and share the personal experiences and moments of inspiration behind them, giving listeners a glimpse into the creative process and the life lessons it revealed.

The conversation also touches on the beauty of using poetry and creative expression as a tool for self-discovery, particularly for those in healing and facilitation spaces. Lexi, Mary, and Victoria explore how challenges like these can bring clarity, connection, and deeper presence to everyday life, no matter how chaotic or busy things might feel.

  • Episode 9: CREATE

Welcome back to The Audio Diaries. In today’s episode, we dive into the importance of slowing down, being present, and intentionally creating a life that feels aligned and fulfilling. As we near the end of the 30-day poetry challenge, I share a new poem inspired by personal reflections, conversations, and small yet meaningful moments throughout the day.

This episode explores how daily poetry has transformed my perspective and how slowing down through meditation and presence can change the way we experience time. I reflect on the balance between setting boundaries and showing up for others while staying true to yourself. We also discuss the connection between your nervous system, your words, and your actions, and why it’s important to align your inner and outer worlds.

I’ll read you a poem I wrote, titled “Create,” which was inspired by moments of peace, frustration, and connection in my own life. This poem is a love letter to living intentionally, creating joy from the small things, and making space for a life you don’t feel the need to escape. Toward the end, I leave you with a powerful question to reflect on: What would your life look like if you intentionally crafted a life that felt deeply aligned and fulfilling?

There’s also some exciting news to share. In January, the next round of Pain, Poems, and Process begins. This is a two-month somatic and poetic healing journey designed to help you find your voice and explore transformation through creativity. If this resonates, join the waitlist to stay updated. Our next monthly poetry circle is coming up on December 8 at 10 AM PST, where we’ll gather for reflection and connection. For facilitators looking to deepen their skills, the Advanced Breathwork Training I’m co-hosting with Ava Johanna is a six-month immersive program with retreats in California and Costa Rica.

I’d love to hear your thoughts or reflections on this episode. Feel free to send me a message on Instagram, and if you’re inspired by today’s conversation, share this episode with someone who might need it. Next week, Mary will join me to wrap up the 30-day poetry challenge and reflect on what we’ve learned. Until then, take care, and remember: small intentional steps can shift everything.

    With love,
    Lexi Rodriguez

  • Episode 6: The Message That Came Through

Welcome back to The Audio Diaries! It's been a while, but I'm excited to dive deep again. Last week, I dropped a meditation, and I've been busy exploring myself and serving my community. This podcast is my space to express my somatic experiences when I feel they can benefit you all.

In this episode, I reflect on my third ayahuasca ceremony, held in the beautiful Topanga Canyon with a mentor and a wonderful group. The experience brought up a lot of introspection, particularly around my relationships and roles as a wife, daughter, and granddaughter. The ceremony was intense, helping me release a lot of doubt, fear, and shame. It was a profound and embodied way to evaluate my behavior and relationships.

Post-ceremony, the real work began. I've always been a fighter and hustler, but now I'm learning to be gentle and compassionate with myself. This episode delves into my journey of softening and self-compassion.

I also share insights from a recent somatic, erotic alchemy practice with a mentor. Despite initial resistance, these sessions have been revealing. My work and art ask a crucial question: What would it take to come into a relationship with all of you? This episode explores the hidden parts of ourselves and the process of bringing them into the light.

A significant part of this episode focuses on my relationship with my husband. Despite a beautiful, loving relationship, I realized there are still parts of me that hesitate to fully receive his love. This resistance ties back to childhood experiences and the trauma of fearing loss. I share a poem that emerged from these reflections and invite you to ponder what it would take to be fully seen and to embrace all parts of yourself.

I conclude with a short somatic practice. Place your hands on your thighs, feel the sensation, and take deep breaths. The invitation is to be with the sensation without manipulating it, allowing your body to guide you.

I also have some exciting updates:

  • Episode 4: Unravel

On the latest episode of the The Audio Diaries we are blessed with Embodiment Facilitator, Yoga Teacher & Speaker Ashley Allard. I've had the pleasure of working with Ashley intimately inside of my private mentorship. On this episode we talk about the power of somatic exploration and how a 'breakthrough' that Ashley had stripped her to the bones of her soul & invited her to start fresh with a stronger foundation than ever.

A lot of the work Ashely and I did together was exploring her pain and processing it with poetry, she is a beautiful writer and shared a poem with us at the end of our conversation together.

    Read Ashleys  poem below;

    It came quick, the unraveling.

With the tug of singular thread.
the whole sweater frayed from her body

Frozen. she stood, in front of the crowded room, as the fibers gave way to the floor and there was nothing she could do to stop it.

    so she let it be.

and when it was through she remained.
    exposed.
    bare.
    open.
    and free.

from the threads that once were home.
the weavings that once felt safe.

    bare.
    open.
    and free.
from their knots that kept her small. their yarn that kept her constrained.

    open.
    free.
    scared.

    with nothing left.
    nothing there to confine her.
barren in the most beautiful way.

    free.
    uninhibited.
    vulnerable.
    and knowing.

    free.
    to weave something bigger.
to strand herself back together stronger.

    free.

and so she stepped over of the mess of a pile that lay at her feet.
walked into the abyss of the crowd ready to leave it all behind.
    ready. so ready. and FREE.
