DOWN WITH THE KINGS welcomes Dres of the popular hip hop duo Black Sheep to the program.

Black Sheep was made up Dres and Mista Lawnge and they were members of the Native Tongues, which included the Jungle Brothers, A Tribe Called Quest, and De La Soul.

They released their first album "A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" in 1991 and gave them huge noteriety. It featured popular hit songs "Flavor of the Month" and "The Choice Is Yours"  Dres talks about all that plus a whole lot more!

Island Storm head coach, Joe Salerno talks to Audley Stephenson about an NBL Canada select team that he put together for a tour across China.  The squad will face CBA (top league in China) and NBA D-League competition over a course of four weeks and is comprised of current or past players from different NBL Canada teams.

DOWN WITH THE KINGS is pleased to welcome Brooklyn's very own Milk Dee of Audio Two to the next episode! Milk is credited with classic hip hop joint Top Billin which was originally released back in 1987 and goes down as one of his greatest musical achievements ever!   His voice, lyrics and music has been sampled countless times by the likes of Jay-Z, Mary J Blige and 50 Cent and others.

Masta Ace takes a reflective journey to different points of his 20+ years in the hip hop industry and discusses what it was like for him as a young MC to be a part of Marley Marlès legendary track, ”The Symphony”, the slight controversy that took place when he released his tribute song too Biz Markie, ”Me & The Biz” and what fans can expect from him in the near future.

Chuck Chillout began his illustrious career on 98.7 Kiss FM in 1982, and never looked back, becoming well-known beyond just the radio scene. He has toured with Public Enemy to sold out performances, spun at high-profile venues, and serves on the board of the Universal Hip Hop Museum. As one of the pioneer DJs in Hip Hop and R&B, Chuck Chillout has introduced the world to some of the biggest hits from icons such as Run DMC, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Salt-N-Pepa and Slick Rick, while remaining a mainstay in the industry with many accolades to his credit.

He talks about the early days of hip hop and its progression all the way to present day.

The legendary Darryl McDaniels AKA DMC of the iconic group RUN-DMC joins Down With The Kings on Maximum FM Hip Hop.  RUN-DMC is considered by many as one of the most influential groups in the history of hip hop culture. They were the first in the genre to have a gold album and be nominated for a Grammy Award. They were the first to earn a platinum record plus so many other firsts throughout their illustrious career.

We talk about all that good stuff and more!

Saint John Mill Rats, head coach Julian King joins The Audman and Meghan McPeak to discuss the Mill Rats roller coaster season as they gear up for the playoffs.

NBL league statistican,  Chuck Miller also stops by and shares his playoff predictions.

The NBL Canada Live podcast hosted by Audley Stephenson and Meghan McPeak analyze the final week of the regular season as a few teams still have something to play for in terms of playoff seeding heading into the post season.  They are joined by high energy point guard of the Brampton A's, Akeem Scott of the Brampton As who chats about the positive turn around his squad made at the tail end of the season and what they did collectively that made the difference. Kevin Loiselle of the Windsor Express also checks in. His team achieved one of their goals this season by capturing the #1 seed in the playoffs guaranteeing home court advantage throughout the playoffs including the finals.

In her first episode of the season, play-by-play voice for the Brampton As joins Audley Stephenson as the new co-host of the NBL Canada Live Podcast. With the playoffs looming, they take a look at the upcoming match-ups and discuss playoff implications.

The Audman and Meghan will be joined by former Windsor Express, Darren Duncan who now plays overseas in Finland and will reflect on his time in the National Basketball League of Canada and his experiences winning a title in Windsor.

Then Kevin Young of the Halifax Rainmen stops by to chat about the hot streak his squad has been on and his improved play that led him to be named back-to-back NBL Canada Player of the Week.

The newly acquired Tim Parham hops on the NBL Canada podcast with Carlan Gay and The Audman to talk about his new life with the Windsor Express. The long time Halifax Rainmen was a fan fave and hated to go but also understands that its a business.  Another person saying good bye is Carlan Gay as he records his final podcast episode before he leaves North America and re-locates to Australia.

 

Carlan has been a member of the NBL-C since day one and was the original announcer of the Power when they were located in Oshawa and the league will miss him for his contributions and passion for the growth of basketball in Canada!
