Last year the GOP attempted to pass a bill making it a violation of civil rights law for universities to express certain opinions on the state of Israel. That bill was defeated, but the Trump administration has continued to successfully push for this form of censorship on college campuses. The administration also recently attempted to sneak similar restrictions into disaster relief funding.
