What Happens When You Finally Stop Pleasing Everyone

There’s a moment right before you say no, set a boundary, or tell someone something they may not want to hear when your whole body braces for the fallout.

But what if the disappointment you’re anticipating is much bigger in your mind than it will actually be?

In this episode, I’m exploring why so many of us are afraid of disappointing other people, where people-pleasing comes from, and what it costs us when we continually abandon our own needs to manage everyone else’s feelings.

We’ll also look at how our nervous systems, early experiences, and sense of self-worth can make saying no feel unsafe, and how to begin making choices that are rooted in your values rather than fear.

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • Why you’re so afraid of disappointing people, and why their reaction may be smaller than you expect
    • Where people pleasing comes from, including childhood conditioning, self-worth, and the fawn response
    • How people pleasing, overcommitting, and always saying yes can lead to resentment and burnout
    • How to say no without guilt and set boundaries without believing you’re selfish or letting people down
    • How to stop seeking approval, practice self-compassion, and make choices that are aligned with your values

How to Heal Shame: Why We Feel It & How to Let It Go

Shame is one of the most universal human experiences, and one of the emotions we’re least likely to talk about.

Unlike guilt, which tells us we’ve done something wrong, shame can make us believe that something is wrong with us. It can keep us striving for perfection, overfunctioning, hiding parts of ourselves, and fearing what might happen if people really knew us.

In this episode, I’m exploring what shame actually is, why our nervous systems developed it, and how we can begin to loosen its grip through witnessing, community, and simple practices that bring what we’ve been carrying into the light.

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • The difference between guilt and shame, and why that distinction matters
    • How shame affects the nervous system and our need for belonging and safety
    • Why shame often shows up as perfectionism, overfunctioning, hiding, and self-criticism
    • How to begin healing shame through witnessing, community, and simple nervous system practices

  • 75. When Wealth Feels Unsafe: Women, Money, and Power
When Wealth Feels Unsafe: Women, Money, and Power

What if your complicated relationship with money isn’t really about money?

For generations, women were legally and socially excluded from owning property, controlling their income, accessing credit, and making independent financial decisions. Although many of those laws have changed, their effects can still live within our families, communities, identities, and nervous systems.

In this episode, I’m exploring the connection between money, power, visibility, and safety—and why so many smart, capable women simultaneously desire greater wealth and feel uncomfortable with what having more might mean.

This isn’t about blaming the past or remaining trapped within it. It’s about understanding what our bodies learned so we can create a new relationship with wealth and power—one grounded in safety, integrity, self-trust, and conscious stewardship.

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • Why our relationship with money is also a relationship with power
    • How women’s historical exclusion from wealth continues to shape us
    • Why visibility, ambition, independence, and receiving can feel unsafe
    • How these patterns can appear as under-earning, over-giving, undercharging, and self-capping
    • How we can expand our capacity to hold wealth, visibility, and impact without abandoning ourselves

The Real Reason So Many Women Struggle With Money

You can be smart, capable, successful, and deeply committed to making a difference in the world, and still feel tension, guilt, scarcity, or fear around money.

For many women, our relationship with money isn’t just about strategy or mindset. It can be connected to safety, survival, our nervous systems, and patterns that existed long before we were born.

In this episode, I’m exploring legacy wounding and money, how inherited patterns can shape our relationship with wealth, and what can become possible when we begin to heal them.

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • Why money struggles aren’t always a mindset or strategy problem
    • What legacy wounding is and how it shapes our relationship with money
    • How inherited patterns can show up as overworking, undercharging, guilt, and difficulty receiving

You know that voice that says you should be handling this better. That you should be able to do it all. That you shouldn’t feel this frustrated, overwhelmed, or afraid.

The Pain You Carry Might Not Be Yours: How to Heal Inherited Trauma

The heaviness. The anxiety. The exhaustion. The patterns you can't quite explain.

What if some of what you're carrying didn't actually begin with you?

In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend, teacher, therapist, and healer Natalie Gutierrez, author of The Pain We Carry and The Pain We Carry Workbook, for a conversation about inherited trauma, ancestral wisdom, and healing the wounds we carry across generations.

Together, we explore how to recognize what may not be yours, reconnect with the wisdom already within you, and begin setting down the burdens you were never meant to carry alone. We also talk about why healing isn't a destination, how to honor your own pace, and what it means to reclaim who you are beneath the patterns and pain you've inherited.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • How trauma and emotional patterns can be carried across generations
    • Why healing isn't a destination and there's no such thing as being completely "healed"
    • How to distinguish who you are from what you've learned to carry
    • Reconnecting with ancestral wisdom, intuition, and your own inner resources
    • Why healing can happen through the body, creativity, and practices beyond talk therapy
    • What it means to imagine and reclaim the most liberated version of yourself

    You are not your thoughts.

The stories your mind tells you are not always true. Yet so many of us move through life believing every thought, every fear, and every moment of self-doubt without ever questioning it.

In this episode, I explore why your brain is wired to focus on the negative, how your nervous system shapes the thoughts you experience, and why positive thinking alone often isn't enough. Most importantly, I share a practical framework to help you step out of thought loops, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect with the wiser, more grounded part of yourself.
