  • Whiteboy by Niv Kaplan
At the heart of WHITEBOY is an unusual question:
Could memories of an apparent past life ever be used as evidence in a court of law?
New York detective Sonny Ray Jackson has a near-death experience, causing his childhood nightmares to return, revealing a devastating image of a white boy named Charlie Miller being pushed beneath a subway train in 1973 by none other than Sonny Ray’s current boss, now the NYPD Chief of Detectives.
What begins as an impossible memory develops into a murder investigation and ultimately a New York criminal trial, combining crime and courtroom drama with questions about memory, consciousness and whether consciousness can survive death.

It was an awakening journey as well as raw adventure. Book 3 came out a couple weeks ago, "The Zen Crescendo". It covers the final months of my travel, to include a most difficult and harrowing 10-day trek through the Annapurna mountains in Nepal.
This series of three books covers travel, locals and foods, meeting other travelers from all over the world, border crossings, and heartfelt realizations about life when you cut the rope and trust in the power and blueprint of the Universe.

  • Disturbing Time by Michael Christopher
In the progressive 1960s, Arthur Campion, a young and naive Nottingham man meets eccentric clairvoyant Edgar Booth, who claims they once shared a past life along with Edgar’s stoic wife Kate and cynical hypnotherapist Bob Langham. Hypnotic regressions, hauntings, séances and subsequent research finally reveal four Victorian lives that appear to authenticate the most extraordinary hypothesis.
The story takes the reader back to 1891, where villainous hawker George Davy becomes entangled with coal merchant Billy Watts, Billy’s partner and part-time prostitute Ethel Bentley, and her dashing clandestine lover Victor Thurgood. A violent robbery, Davy’s lecherous assault on Ethel, and Davy’s desperate murder by Thurgood and Watts lead to an inconclusive police inquiry.
Returning to the 1960s, the two eras mystically come together during a final chaotic séance. Though some ambiguity remains, the contemporary manifestations of the Victorian characters are somewhat awkwardly revealed.

  • What My Khmer Father Couldn't Say: A Story of Survival and Presence by Som Phin
Cambodian-American Kravann has spent much of his life resenting his father, Boonsong, for the emotional distance between them. Then he inexplicably awakens in his father's body in 1985 California. • Summer Husband by Amy Lorowitz
Is thirty-nine too old to get your first sleepaway camp kiss?
Lori Kramer, a stay-at-home mom, would go to any lengths to giver her two daughters the summer experience of their lives - even getting a job at their camp and tagging along with them.
Aside from overseeing the chaos of four bunks filled with rambunctious kids and their counselors, Lori also manages to outwit her boss, outrun and bear - and that's during the first half of the summer! But those escapades are child's play compared to her growing friendship with and attraction to Teddy, the camp's British soccer coach. Their clandestine meetings late at night behind the laundry shack soon turn as hot and steamy as a lazy August afternoon.
Lori never imagined that stepping out of her conventional, under-appreciated NYC existence would turn her world upside down and change her life forever. Camp may be for kids - but she's the one having the most fun.
