I want to share a time when I felt completely disempowered with the rise of Anti Asian hate back in 2021. I felt so paralyzed that it cost me my business. Today, I want to prevent any mission based and heart centered business to not let the results of the election make them feel the way that I did.
I believe in the power of the word "AND." We can feel terrible about this post election period AND we can choose to promote our business when you have the bandwidth to do so.
This is for the business owner that needs to be reminded of your power. You started your business so that you can help people, I know this is you.
Join me inside 3 different office hours this week (free) so that I can support you on social media. Social media is where your customers are, if if you decide to go silent, that is your own choice of course! However, if you are wanting to continue to be the business owner that knows when women in business make money, that's how we will have the financial resources to effect change.

It's been far too long, so I thank you for being here. I look forward to a weekly show that gives you tools + tips on how to take action to what matters the most to you as a mom and business owner. It's a messy role, but one that I know you and I love dearly.
In today's episode, I share an exercise you can do to highlight what's NOT working in your life/business for you to take action on. I also want you to know that it is OK to not feel like you are successful BUT to remember that success is only defined by YOU and no one else. You already have everything you need, and comparing yourself to someone on the internet must stop :)

We are so lucky to have Michelle Li, Founder of The Very Asian Foundation, multi-skilled journalist (over 20 years of experience no less) and anchor at 5 On Your Side in St. Louis, Missouri on the show. After a 25 segment segment on January 1, 2022 over the foods that Americans ate for New Years, she was met with a disgruntled and racist caller who left her a voicemail complaining to the show about Michelle.
I talked to Michelle, along with. live audience, on the importance of using our voices and our platforms. We talked about the further work we, as AAPI community have to do.
My favorite part of the episode is having Michelle sit in my "hot seat" for an exercise on what she wants her life to look like in 5 years now that she is starting a non profit to help amplify diverse AAPI voices through education, storytelling, and community connection by raising money for organizations.
You can learn more about The Very Asian Foundation here on their website to donate, or on Instagram
You can follow Michelle on Instagram and Twitter too
Thank you to our guests that jumped into asking Michelle questions -- you can also learn more and support on how they are using their voices

I had such a fun time on the Strong Sunflower Podcast with co-host Zana Carbahal and Gisselle Herrera!
They are on a mission to inspire you with stories of growth for people who are in the process of "blooming" in their field. I worked with Zana as she was a coaching client inside the Mastermind I co-lead last year with Shannan Hale. I'd love to know your thoughts and any takeaways!
Enjoy!
This episode focuses on how we can look at 2022 in a way that is NOT only about vision boards, New Years Resolutions and The Law of Attraction!
I'm mini workshopping ideas on how you can honor your goals with a new perspective. Instead of a laundry list of goals, another option is you can simply have a THEME for 2022. I added a clip from Lewis Howe's School of Greatness Podcast with Mel Robbins that was profound to share with you.
We have a lot of exciting things happening with Avenue Mama this year, but I found myself sharing the heartbreaking story of why I even started this community. My nanny's death anniversary is coming up on Jan 6 and will be 5 years since she has been gone and if you are new to Avenue Mama, she is 100% my motivation behind reminding all moms to not "wait" on her dreams and let go of mom guilt. Your goals and your dreams, matter too.
I'd love to connect with you on

And come here to look at what coaching programs/workshops/events are coming up!
Take care,
Annie
Friends! This episode got lost when I changed podcast platforms so I am airing the YouTube version for the first time and making sure you listen/watch this interview.
This was recorded in 2019, pre-pandemic, pre-election, and before the world shut down. I still can't believe it to watch this podcast interview. back when I sat with Gary Vaynerchuk without a mask on... in a room in Culver City at Vayner Media and I am so grateful for that opportunity-- truly the highlight of my 15+ year entrepreneurial journey.
I create www.avenuemama.com/gary where I will continue to compile his content as it pertains to us mamas in business. One thing he talks A LOT about? Tiktok, so details on how you can learn Tiktok is on that page.
If you enjoy this episode, please take a screenshot and tag @avenuemama and @garyvee and let us know your favorite part and what you are taking away from this.
Cheers to you mama!
Annie
It is easy to feel intimidated in the online space but Amy breaks down what she would do if she had no community or audience. We also talked about what is on the horizon for Amy in 5 years and if you haven’t heard the direction that her team and Digital Course Academy is going, you’ll want to tune in.
I had Amy Porterfield on my vision board in 2018 before the podcast even launched, and I am proof that you can manifest people into your orbit.
I hope you enjoy this episode!
For all things Amy Porterfield and how you can get to know her even more, head to www.avenuemama.com/amy and be sure to check the page for all her free offers to help you get clear. And if creating an online course is for you and your ready to make it happen, be sure to be on my email list so that you won’t miss the bonuses that I have as an affiliated for Digital Course Academy.
In this episode a buried an ‘easter egg’ phase that when you find it and do what I ask, I’ll be sending you something really special.
After less than 72 hours in Texas, I came home with a full heart after co-hosting "LIGHT- One day Soulful Retreat" and the addiction to saying, "y'all." This episode is a recap of the retreat and where the imperfections were, and what happens when women rally around each other without fear or judgment.
A huge thank you goes out to Shannan Hale who had the vision to create this event and inviting over 50 women to her brand new home (of just 3 weeks) and inviting me on board.
This is magic when like minded women gather and hold space for discomfort, growth and healing.
I can't wait for the next retreat! Sign up here to be notified when we do it again!
