The Avid Indoorsmen

Our second episode of Marvel Mania takes us to Iron Man!

We were lucky enough to have one of our favorite husband and wife duos of all time bless us with their presence, the wonderful Tim and Jenika Foust. Tim Foust is the freakish super bass who sings with Rob in Home Free. Jenika is a brilliant musician whose latest album, Hello Sun, can be found at www.jenikamarion.com!

These two are such a delight and we can’t thank them enough for taking the time to gab about Iron Man with us. They really brought it and you’re gonna love what they had to say about this 2008 mega hit that is one of the main reasons we have 20 some Marvel movies to chat about before the release of Avengers: Endgame.

Enjoy this bonus content!

Welcome to the very first installment of our new project: Marvel Mania!

We have decided to do mini-episodes on all of the 21 Marvel movies that lead up to Avengers: Endgame. It is quite the undertaking but we thought it would be fun to get us all caught up on these films before Endgame is released!

We know that Captain America: The First Avenger was not the first film released, but it is the first in the chronological timeline of the Marvel Universe, so that is why we are starting with Cap!

Because we know so many people who enjoy nerding out to the Superhero genre, we thought this would be a great opportunity to bring some guests onto the pod! Joining on this episode is Reilly Zamber from The Hound + The Fox, and Adam Chance from Home Free and Twitch extraordinaire. These two were such amazing guests, you’re going to love their takes on this film!

Let the Marvel Mania begin!

Rob and Buegs decided that whatever won Best Picture at the 91st Academy Awards would get it’s own episode. Turned out to be a controversial Best Picture winner that shocked many people and they delve into some of those issues as they discuss Green Book.
They begin this episode with an Oscars recap and talk about what they enjoyed/disliked about the big award show. Then they go into the most recent movies they’ve seen, what they’ve been checking out on the streaming platforms and the best meals they’ve had that week.
Buegs educated himself on the controversy that surrounded Green Book and has a pretty informed take. They both take you for a ride on this feel-good-road-trip film!
Rob and Buegs embarrass themselves once again with a movie trivia game at the end of the episode.
Their Patrons get to hear each of their TOP 5 Favorite Musician Biopics.

It’s almost that wonderful time of the year where we get to watch our favorite movie-makers celebrate themselves in what seems like a 12 hour award show. We don’t care how long it is, we’d watch another 12 hours if they aired it! Since the 91st Academy Awards is going down this Sunday, we decided to get together and record our predictions for you fine people. These predictions are final (we’re not gonna pull a Beatty/Dunaway and give Best Picture to another movie after we’ve announced the winner...).

We start out the episode discussing the latest movies we watched, what we’ve been streaming on the Netflix and our favorite meals from that week.

We’ve gone through every category that will be announced during the Academy Awards, some categories we spent more time on than others... We have made our predictions available on our website at: www.theavidindoorsmen.com/news and even left a blank ballot so you can play along with us!

In fact, we want to a play a game with our Patrons at www.patreon.com/theavidindoorsmen! The top scoring Patron, if they answer more categories correctly than both of us, gets to choose a movie for us to review! If you want the chance to make us sit through an awful movie, or just want to hear our thoughts on one of your fave films, join our Patreon community today.

How to play: go to our website and print off a blank ballot. Make your predictions with a pen. Take a picture of your filled out ballots. Then tweet us @AvidIndoorzmen the picture of your ballot before the Academy Awards start. When you tweet your picture to @AvidIndoorzmen, add the hashtag: #Grouchies2019. Only the top scoring Patron from our Patreon community will be eligible to win! This is gonna be fun!

We end the episode with another movie game that we’re not terribly great at!

Enjoy listening to this episode and enjoy watching the Oscars!

A.I. EP. 12 - “Well, I know Mom sure likes them!” - Blast From The Past
Hopefully you are listening to this episode while snuggling up with the person you love since it is Valentine’s Day! We thought since it is the Day of Valentine’s and it’s very close to the 20 year anniversary of Blast From the Past, that we would devote an entire podcast to reviewing this cinematic classic (according to Buegs).
We seductively begin our podcast talking about the movies we’ve seen most recently, whispering sweet nothings about what we’ve been devouring on the streaming platforms, and describe in steamy detail our favorite meals of the last week.
Next, we passionately chat about Blast From the Past, some more passionately than others...
The episode then ends with a provocative, flirtatious, come-hither-like MOVIE GAME!
We know we’ve been goofing around with romantic language here, but if you don’t have a special someone to share Valentine’s Day with, don’t fret. You can spend your time during this Hallmark Holiday with two lovable goofballs. Be good to yourself by having some good YOU time! You certainly don’t need a significant other to listen to one of the best podcasts EVER! And if at any point during this day (or anytime!) you feel alone always remember WE LOVE YOU!!
Thanks for listening and enjoy the great indoors!

Okay Campers, Rise and Shine, it’s time to listen to Rob and Buegs talk about one of their favorite comedies of all time: GROUNDHOG DAY! We all will be celebrating Groundhog Day in just a few days time so they thought it would be appropriate to review this Bill Murray classic. Rob is very much hoping that the Groundhog sees his shadow so we can all get some respite from this ridiculously cold winter. Buegs will still be wearing a T-Shirt and Shorts regardless, because he grew up in the frozen northland of Baudette, MN.

The Avid Indoorsmen start off the show in the same fashion you’ve become accustomed to, they chat about the last movies they’ve viewed, what they’re currently streaming on the Netflix and the best meal they consumed that week.

They had a blast talking about Groundhog Day and hope you enjoy listening to how much they love this movie.

This episode ends with a newer movie game they are trying out and the guys would love it if you could talk to them on the twitter and give out some suggestions for a game title! Tweet @AvidIndoorzmen with your suggestions!

Rob and Buegs are trying out something new for their Patrons at Patreon.com. They will be releasing an extended version of the podcast ONLY ON PATREON! Each and every podcast from here on out will contain a Top 5 list that will pertain to the movie they are reviewing. In this episode, for example, they end the podcast with their Top 5 Bill Murray roles. If you’re interested in getting some exclusive content, come check out www.patreon.com/theavidindoorsmen and become a Patron today!

A.I. EP. 10 - “No Shooting Friends, Joseph” - Unbreakable
@RobLundquist and @Buegs decided to go back and watch Unbreakable in preparation for the upcoming premiere of the new M. Night Shyamalan flick, Glass.
They start off this episode by talking about their favorite moments from this year’s Golden Globes. Then they chat about the last movies they’ve seen, what they’re binging on the television and their favorite meal of late.
Both of these guys were excited to deep dive into Unbreakable. You’ll have to listen for their hot takes on this early M. Night Shyamalan film.
It’s a new year so Buegs and Rob wanted to try some new games. Check out the new game they tried out that was suggested by an Avid Indoorsmen Patron from Patreon!

Buegs @buegsjr and Rob @RobLundquist got together right after the Christmas holiday so they could record their first podcast of 2019. This episode is devoted to the newest Coen Brothers flick available now on Netflix, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.
The Avid Indoorsmen (@theavidindoorsmen) start off by talking about the most recent movies they watched, then chat about what they’re binging on the streaming platforms and describe their delicious Christmas dinners.
These guys take a deep dive into The Ballad of Buster Scruggs and explain all 6 vignettes of this American Western Anthology. Will these two think the Ballad of Buster Scruggs hit all the right notes or will they think it fell flat? Listen to find out!
Rob and Buegs end this first episode of the new year with a new movie game! Check it out to see how they did and if you like this new game. If you have any new movie game suggestions just tweet at them: @AvidIndoorzmen.

Elf Rob (@RobLundquist) and Buegs (@buegsjr) recorded this in a Turkey-stuffed haze fresh off of Thanksgiving. They discuss some of their favorite moments from the holiday with their respective fams.
The Avid Indoorsmen (@TheAvidIndoorsmen) get in the Christmas spirit and start talking about Elf @ 11:30. They put out a poll to their adoring fans on what was their favorite Christmas movie and Elf won. See if these two enjoyed it as much as their Indoorsies (we gotta come up with a better nickname for fans of the podcast).
They conclude the episode playing a movie game that a fellow twitter follower suggested and it’s just good, clean fun @ 59:08. Spoiler alert, they don’t do very well on this one.
Enjoy!
