This is one we talk about a a lot. Podcasts can be great, but they can also be a lot of work and there are many different formats. I'll share some things that I've learned, as well as what we've found that works and doesn't work.
Derek Porter built his agency with a speciality in Video Motion Graphics. Being very Niche, Derek describes the struggles that are similar to most agency owners.
When the deposits from his online story became greater than his bi-weekly paychecks from Best Buy, Frank Downstar knew he was onto something. He quit his job and went in on selling bolts for rebuilding Honda engines. Today, Frank has an office with a garage to work on cars, a video editing studio, podcast studio and warehouse for his bolts and gear. In this episode we break down his story.
Jason Smith was worked for 14 years as LAPD when he discovered you could work from home as a digital agency. At first he didn't believe it, but after taking a Facebook Ads certification course and getting a few clients he found himself making more money than he could in a year running ads. He then doubled and tripled that. In todays episode, we'll break down how he did it.
Should you use Alibaba or source direct from a factory in China? This week, we are coming to you from Xiamen, China, where we are producing a digital product for Nate Sedgwick of Sourcing Mojo. Nate's company helps all size companies from start up entrepreneurs to a billion dollars in revenue get the best quality manufacturing in China.
Quick update on our trip and then dive in at 4:40min.
It's a short one because we have to head for the airport and have been filming all week. Enjoy and see you next week!
He was a manager at In N Out Burger. I told him not to quit his job, but he did it anyways. Fast forward 11 months and Anthony Hinojos moved out of his moms house and has built an agency for himself. This week, we wanted to bring you a very practical and realistic story of hard work to earn independence and Anthony is a great story. We don't say perfect because he's had to overcome many obstacles, but Anthony did it, and in this episode he breaks down how.
When talking about your "WHY," does it always have to contribute? When is it appropriate to be selfish vs selfless? This is the topic of todays podcast on The AVNI Interviews.
Some people thrive in certain environments and fail in others. Do you have a process for getting your best work done? This is the topic for today's podcast.
As a pro-skateboarder, I developed a process that helped me get better and better and film video parts, which was the equivalent of releasing an album to professional skateboarders.
It may be more than the environment, it may be the process. I once was in a situation where I had an athletic process down. Here it is for your reference:
1 - Choose your inspo. Find someone who you truly want to emulate.
2 - Pick your song. I would pick songs to create video parts to, but this could be your favorite podcast, or youtuber, etc.
3 - Start visualizing to your song. For me, it was skating rails, stairs, ledges, etc. But if it's a digital product, you can visualize sales coming in on your phone, or you interacting with your FB group. If it's home's you could create a book of sales to look back at.
4 - Pick what the ender will be, or the big win: As you visualize the different parts, pick the big win, such as selling a certain amount, or a big home, closing a large round of funding, etc.
5 - Find Your Training Facility - I had a skate park I went to every day to practice. I was able to master skills by going there every day I never would have been able to do if I wasn't surrounded by an environment focussed on progress.
6 - Record Small Wins - As I started to film tricks, I would add them to my song. Even when it was 1 or 2 in the beginning, it was exciting because I was getting closer to the 100 tricks I needed to put out a video part.
7 - Have a vision of the final product - Every day I would think about how it would change my life when I put out the final product. This is what drove me and motivated me daily. I could see it so clearly and while it usually ended up a little different than I had imagined, there were always parts that were exactly what I had envisioned.
Now apply this to your job, being an entrepreneur, or whatever you truly desire. Get yourself into the environment where you thrive and create a process that brings out the absolute best and most productive you.
Lucas Lindstrom was one of our youngest Social Media Digital Agency students. At 20 years old, he was making $500/month from his parents business. After taking our program, he made over 10k his second month. We wanted to break down exactly how he did it so it doesn't sound like one of those false promise fairy tales you see and hear online every day. In this episode, Lucas explains exactly what he did.
Finn McKenty threw me off. He first messaged me as a hard core Youtuber. While I totally respected his passion, I had no idea his level of education, background, knowledge of digital marketing and achievements. He loves operations and while he is known in the hard core music scene, it is for his passion for systems, business and marketing. I quickly realized his insights were extremely valuable for our audience and we decided to have him on the show. Enjoy and hope you take as much value from it as I did.
