On a quiet Monday morning in Delmar, New York, 52‑year‑old court clerk Peter Porco got up from bed and proceeded with his typical morning routine. But while he opened his front door to grab the morning newspaper, he noticed a trail of blood on the walls and floors behind him. That when his body failed him and he collapsed to the ground.
