Michael Oher, the NFL left tackle on whom The Blind Side book and blockbuster movie (starring Sandra Bullock) is based, is now suing the white family that adopted him for "exploitation." What version of the story is true: the heartwarming tale of American charity and racial harmony (inspired by football obsession), or the new narrative of rich whitey profiting off the young, gifted, and black?

Spike Lee may be a doofus but HE GOT GAME (1998) is a cinematic masterpiece and possibly the best sports movie of all time. We explore why the stunt casting of Ray Allen was so historically successful, and how it was almost Kobe instead. Also Denzel's command of the paint, Rick Fox and Jim Brown's clutch spot work off the bench, the hilarious coach cameos from the sideline, and why Spike Lee's surrealistic shooting touch, wrongly characterized by sportswriters as "inaccurate," hits nothing but net.

White Men Can't Jump captures America at its best (1992 version) and at its worst (2023 SSRI version). We review the original, starring Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes and Rosie Perez, against the new Hulu "remix" starring whoever it doesn't matter. With Eddie of Car Crash fame.
