Welcome back to the porch. Season Two of The Backyard Bougie Podcast is called Beauty from Ashes: the clear sky after the rain.

In this first episode, Kristie and Mike take turns asking each other questions they've rarely answered out loud. They talk about the years Kristie's mom and dad lived with us on the farm, three generations on one piece of land. They remember family dinners where every thorn needed two roses, the faith that carried our family, and what our kids learned from their grandparents right to the end.

Then they get to the getting back up: the "beautiful chaos" of starting again, the guilt no one talks about, and the things that grow one season at a time. And if you're in the middle of caring for someone you love right now, Kristie has a word for you: there is purpose in the pause.
