This week I share my conversation with author Bruce McIntyre. He recently released his memoir entitled, There Are No Answers Here, Only Questions, wich is the true story of two life-altering events and the personal transformation that resulted from their unlikely collision. It's the story of an owner preparing to sell his business and retire just as he is diagnosed with cancer. Faced with the choice of continuing with the sale and waiting to deal with cancer or putting the deal-making on hold while treating cancer, our business owner decides to take on both at the same time. Is this possible? Perhaps, but only if he allows others to step in while he steps back, and that's never easy when you're the boss.
Bruce was born in St. Louis, and completed his education at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. He then found his way to Cincinnati, Ohio, and Procter and Gamble, and after marriage and many moves, he decided to leave the nomadic corporate life and start his own business. The couple chose Charlotte, North Carolina as their forever home, and have been a part of the community since 1979. His business, McIntrye Sales, was a foodservice sales and marketing agency that steadily grew over its thirty-year history. He and Joyce are the proud parents of two, and grandparents of four. The couple now lives in a retirement cottage with their gregarious Golden Retriever and shy indoor cat.

As I share in this episode, patience is not about waiting passively. Instead, it's about actively engaging with our experiences, learning from them, and using that knowledge to foster personal development.

In this episode, I interview Kay Burnham with Perceiving Possibilities. Kay spent over 20 years working in leadership roles in the live entertainment industry before transitioning to her current role as CEO of Perceiving Possibilities. Kay uses her decades of experience as a people-first leader, lessons learned as a mindfulness practitioner and teacher, and her educational background in psychology and business administration to empower others to feel unstoppable so they can turn life's challenges from mountains to climb into speedbumps they can easily roll over.
Balance is a state of mind, and Kay shares with us how using mindfulness to become the objective observer of your thoughts, emotions, and life, in general, gives you a greater ability to maintain a balanced perspective and connect to more moments of joy and peace. Yet many people are stopped from trying mindfulness because of a lack of understanding. This week, Kay helps us bust the common myths around mindfulness and give practical tips on how to bring more mindfulness into your day without adding more to your To-Do list.
