The BatLabels Label-Cast

Comic book omnivore Chris (@chcardin) and Aaron, the guy who runs @Swear_Trek, get together and watch the pilot for Star Trek: Discovery.

Also in this episode: Space groundhogs, the Star Trek comic book where Captain Picard saves Santa Claus, and what exactly is in Chris' bathtub.

A special episode recorded around a fire pit in the woods at Fireside Conference ( http://firesideconf.com ). Aaron's stories include:

• a mysterious, life-sized cardboard George Clooney
• getting banned from No Frills
• repeatedly mentioning Zoodles on the CBC
• that time the Department of Homeland Security asked about Aaron's Twitter accounts

Aaron guests on 1310 News' Ottawa Today, hosted by Mark Sutcliffe, to talk about Adam West.

Chris and I saw tonight's preview showing of the new Wonder Woman film, and we have a lot of thoughts! Plus, I re-tell my Number 12 Bus Suitcase Bread Man story from Twitter.

Batman 66 superfan Aaron (@BatLabels) and comic book omnivore Chris (@chcardin) hang out and talk about crop-stealing aliens, Jack Ryan's reverse aging process, TVOntario's Saturday Night at the Movies and Magic Shadows, James Bond as a family business, the brilliant psychology of Lego Batman, and finding out that your coworker's dad is the Polkaroo. Music by Chris Seibel (@seibeltron).

Holy extended absence! We're back to talk about The Lego Batman Movie, nods to the weirder parts of DC's history on TV's Supergirl, movies Aaron has not seen, that John Woo movie where a dude bodychecks a horse, Superman III vs Superman IV, Kraven's Last Hunt and the unrelenting grimness of all 1987 comic books, Friday the 13th The Series, and much, much more. No wonder it's a double length episode, and it's only part one of our conversation.

Aaron (@batlabels) visits Chris' (@chcardin) house to play Batman: Arkham VR. Mostly Aaron throws stuff at Alfred and is terrified. Other discussion topics include all the Planets of the Apes films and TV shows, Doctor Strange, Batmen that are not our Batman, and that time that coffee saved Aaron's life.

Video highlights of Aaron's disastrous time as Batman can be found on YouTube: search for "Batman Hates Nutrition", or on Vimeo at vimeo.com/aaronreynolds

Batman 66 superfan Aaron ( @BatLabels ) and comic book omnivore Chris ( @chcardin ) deliver a running commentary on the new animated film Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, starring Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar. References and cameos are spotted, labels are catalogued, and laughs are shared.

For this special, double-length 20th episode, Aaron (@batlabels) talks to one of his favourite artists, Brandon Bird (@brandon_bird), about art, pop culture, Kickstarter, colouring books, Eric Roberts, Hello Kitty lunchboxes, yelling at Colin Farrell, and an elaborate tribute to Jerry Orbach of Law & Order.

Aaron has completely lost his voice, so here are highlights from the cast Q&A for The Expanse, from FanExpo in Toronto. If you're not watching The Expanse, stop listening and come back after running a ten hour marathon to get caught up.

Featuring Steven Strait, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Frankie Adams.
