In part one of this episode, we talk with the PCDN Team Dr. Craig Zelizer and Dra. Catalina Rojas about their journey through academia, power dynamics, inequality, and having a global vision.  

Originally from Bogota, Colombia, Dra. Catalina Rojas arrived to the U.S. to purse her doctoral studies. She has been a consultant for international organizations and worked in gender, international development and peaebuilding. She has published academic articles, trained and taught around the world and enjoyed working directly with women’s organizations in advocacy issues. She never thought she would ever be involved in a social enterprise like PCDN.

Dr. Craig Zelizer envisioned PCDN even before the technology was there to fulfill his dream of closing the information gap. While he co-founded two NGOs, worked for & consulted for leading organizations, he received his PhD and worked for 10 years at a Professor at Georgetown University he slowly but surely grew a list that turned into a global community that ended up connecting peacebuilding and changemaking professionals from around the world.

In this episode, we talk with Avani Parekh, Strategic Partner Manager at Facebook. We learn about her journey after graduation where she talks about working with the movers and shakers at the World Bank, organizing several projects at the community level in Kenya, India, and North Carolina, and eventually landing her current role at Facebook where she works with community leaders to build authentic, empathetic and meaningful communities.

He is a nationally recognized keynote speaker, consultant, and author of the book, "How to Work with Jerks." Besides helping people work with jerks, he helps organizations strengthen relationships with colleagues and clients by creating an atmosphere where employees are engaged, valued, and developed into leaders.

Dr. Sonja Lind helps university students achieve their dream of studying in another country and experiencing different parts of the world.
