As a new driver, you have to be completely focused when you're driving.

Even something like thinking about what you want for dinner can distract you from the road.

Mistakes can actually become a distraction too. 

The more we replay and keep track of our mistakes and what happened, the less we are paying attention to what's happening.

Life is the same way.

If we're too busy replaying our mistakes, they can become a roadblock and keep us from going where we need to go and being who we need to be.

I believe that God takes what the devil intends to destroy us with and uses it to make us stronger and give us a victorious story.

As I was thinking up a long list of things I wish I was better at, I hear, “define better… "

I had to honestly think about it. 

I had the revelation that to "be better" either meant I had to look at my personal best, or compare myself with people who are better.

We never know what going on in people’s heads, what’s really going on behind the scenes, and what people's true intentions are.

When we catch someone on a bad day, or a bad moment, we don’t know what’s really going on in their life right now.

And it’s so easy to judge, make assumptions, and maybe return the bad moment or bad day on that same person or someone else. 

But you can make change like you wouldn't believe...once you drop your assumptions.

Why do we swear and why is it so bad? 

Did you know that people who constantly swear are viewed as insecure, lazy, have low self-control, and less intelligent than they actually are?  

So, why do we trade looking insecure for cuss words?

Why do we swear and why is it so bad? 

When I was a little kid, even using words like stupid and dumb were reacted to by other kids with wide eyes and their jaw dropped to the ground. 

But I guess as we get older, we learn new words and we think we’re kind of cool and we start using them.

But did you know that people who are constantly swearing are viewed as insecure, lazy, low self-control, and even less intelligent than they actually are? 

So, why do we trade using cuss words for looking lazy and insecure? Typically three reasons. 

We use it for emphasis, attention, and anger. You know, we hit our table--yeah, we hit our table with our side, we burn our fingers, I don’t know, it happened to me once--on a light bulb even, or we’re just really fired up about a debate.

But, you know, you could spend hours on your hair and your physical appearance, but people are going to remember you best by your words. 

So, I challenge you this week to learn some new words to add to your vocabulary. And remove certain words from your vocabulary. 

But don’t beat yourself up about it if, like, you hit your side on the table, or burn your hand, because once your brain is aware of a problem, it’s going to want to start to solve it.
