With tensions high due to conflict in the Middle East related to Israel and the war begun by October 7th terrorist raid of Israel, the United States Navy has mobalised towards the region, helping to prepare for possible Iranian military actions. These Iranian actions would be in direct response to the killing of a Top Hamas leader while the leader was in the Iranian capital just weeks ago. Secretary of Defense Loyd Austin directed the navy to move a new carrier group into the region, but the press release from the Secretary of Defense did not reference the President or Commander in Chief.
