Tonight will be another edition of the College Football Playoff Ranking television show and Marc is mainly focused on the rankings for one team, Alabama. He makes the case for why they could stay in the top 4 but also understands if they drop down to 6. Then he wonders how the committee will feel about Minnesota after they were ranked 17th prior to taking down the 4th ranking Penn State.
Chris Weinke will be inducted into Florida Sports Hall of Fame in Orlando tonight and joins the show to reflect on this playing career. He talks about his decision to commit to Florida State, if the will always be the oldest player to win the Heisman Trophy. Then he and Marc discuss the coaching search at FSU and what kind of coach he thinks the school should look at.
In a very entertaining Monday Night Football clash between the 49ers and Seahawks the last unbeaten team has fallen. Marc talks about how Russell Wilson has become one of the best quarterbacks in the league and looks back at all the negative coverage that the Seahawks took for when they drafted him. Ironically the only positive analysis came from Jon Gruden.
The two biggest stories off the field this weekend was James Weisman at Memphis getting ruled ineligible and then eligible before the season opener and Chase Young at Ohio State who could be looking at a 4 game suspension. Marc talks about how all the screaming about how the NCAA needs to change won't do anything until the people in charge want to change.
The Miami Dolphins are riding a two-game winning streak and although things are going well on the field the reporters covering the team aren't very happy about it. Marc talks about how some reporters are criticizing the team because these wins are hurting their chances of drafting a franchise quarterback but as Marc points out consistent losing can destroy are players confidence and instill a culture of losing.
It was #1 vs #2 errr well it was actually #2 vs #3 but lets not get bothered by details. Alabama vs LSU lived up to the hype this weekend. But the biggest talking about for the rest of the season will be can Alabama stay in contention to make the College Football Playoff. Marc talks about how the influence of television networks will help keep the Crimson Tide in the conversation for the rest of the season.
After UCF suffered their third loss of the season there has been a small segment of the fanbase ready to walk the plank and demand drastic changes. Marc takes the opportunity to try and walk these fans back and talks about how the school hasn't done anything to ruin its chance to join a new conference because the opportunity isn't present and that this could just be a tiny blip on the radar.
