Notting Hill Carnival is the biggest street festival in Europe, where millions of people attend over the two day event to have lots of fun. They dance, eat good West Indian food like jerk chicken or curried goat rice & peas and they drink plenty of rum punches.
StreetMic went onto the streets of Notting Hill at 09:00 am in the morning on Children's Day to interview and capture those who were preparing for the carnival. These included people returning from J'ouvert covered in paint, sound systems setting up, stall holders preparing food to sell, and even masqueraders practising for the BIG event.
StreetMic interviewed copious numbers of people before the parade started and while it took place, These people even included a TV star like Patrick Trueman from Eastenders, and the MC from Channel One sound system.
This PODCAST is eighty two minutes of entertainment & education.
StreetMic will upload a new episode each Sunday
