Eric Church threw shade at Garth Brooks during a show this weekend in Washington D.C.  He was singing the Waylon Jennings' classic "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" . . . and he changed one line to "I know Garth didn't do it this way."

Everyone knew last night's all-female medley to open the CMAs would be historic, and it was.  It started with Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, and Reba McEntire . . . and they made way for Jennifer Nettles, Kimberly Schlapman, Karen Fairchild, The Highwomen, Tanya Tucker, Gretchen Wilson, Crystal Gayle, Terri Clark, Sara Evans, and Martina McBride . . . who took turns honoring decades of female country performers.
