Episode 104 comes out this Saturday, and it's a special one. I want to celebrate the great B-Movie actor Tom Atkins, and I'm pairing it with River to River German Pilsner, provided by my friends at @singlespeedbrewingco. Tom has had a singularly wonderful career, and had been a big part of my movie viewing life, from The Fog, to Creepshow, Escape From New York, and all time classic Night of the Creeps. And that's just a small slice of his great career. He grew up in the blue collar world of Pittsburgh, PA, the son of a steel worker, and I thought it made sense to pair this one with a solid Pilsner from my blue collar home state. Get your favorite beverage ready and tune in this Saturday. 🍻
Episode 103: The Big Heat, with Ruekeller Helles, provided by Placentia's The Bruery. This is one tight, vicious little picture about a good cop pushed to the edge when gangsters blow up his life. Big thanks to The Bruery for giving me their Helles, a light, full flavored beer that pairs great with this intense, fantastic picture starring Glenn Ford, Gloria Grahame and Lee Marvin.🍻
Episode 102 drops today, and it's a blast. Repo Man, with Shivaya Dry Hopped wild ale, from @cellador_ales. Emilio Estevez gives one of my favorite performances as Otto, a nihilistic punk in mid 80s Los Angeles, who gets tangled up with salty repo man Bud, played by legend Harry Dean Stanton. Oh, and there's a '64 Chevy Malibu with highly radioactive aliens in the trunk. And one of the best soundtracks ever. All this paired with a peachy, mouth watering wild ale from one of my favorite breweries. Join guest host Jane and me for a damn good time. 🍻
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains, with R&D Vintage 2023, from New Glarus Brewing. Guest host Jane picked this 1982 picture starring Diane Lane as a young woman dealt a series of devastating, life altering blows in a short amount of time. She takes her sister and cousin on the road with a couple bands and creates a movement. There's some great music from punk legends, who also play roles in the film. I paired it with a New Glarus award receiving sour, that is one hell of a good time.

Prophecy, John Frankenheimer's 1979 eco-horror about pollution from a logging company in Maine creating mutant plant and wildlife, and an ornery EPA doctor investigating. There's a giant, lumbering mutant bear named Katahdin causing all sorts of trouble, and unintentional comedy.
I paired it with Czech Dark Dark Lager, provided by the wonderful people at @fielddaybeer. It's a smooth, roasty, easy drinking beer that would go great with a Maine camping trip. Just avoid Katahdin. Join me and guest host Jon for the chat. 🍻

In celebration of the season we're covering Bob Clark's 1974 #slasher Black Christmas. Before Halloween, this terrifying picture laid out the blueprint for the modern slasher (if slasher movies are your bag, check out episode 34 of our podcast, a slasher special). A sick, sick individual is prank calling a sorority, and murdering the inhabitants. It's atmospheric, with a bit of dark humor, and some great camerawork.
Thanks for listening!
