Keyword Clusters:
Identify keywords for your primary pages:
(what are users searching for pertaining to your industry/niche/product/service?)
To conduct keyword research, here's what I recommend:
- check out the competition; what are they ranking for?
- use tools
- have a look at what you're already ranking for by using google analytics & google search console
- brainstorm!!!
- "searches related to" at the bottom of google's search pages
Metrics to consider:
- how many people are querying for that term (search volume)
- what is the competition score (organic difficulty)
- relevance
Pillar pages:
These pages will serve as the core content for your keywords
Topic A - SEO
Topic B - social media
Topic C - website design
Creating keyword clusters:
- what are some keyword/phrase variants to the topic?
- what are some other versions of the topic?
- what questions can you answer using your keyword clusters?
- how can you stitch them all together
Clusters means more internal links!! Don't forget to link back to the main pillar page!
Recommended Tools:
Google Keyword Planner
SEMrush
Ahref
Moz
Surfer SEO
Neil Patel's Ubbersuggest

Even if you're not new to social media, there are some things that may be tricky to setting up and understanding social media for your business. For instance, where should you be posting? Are there specific platforms that you should or should not be posting on? What should you be posting to those channels? And how can you manage a regular posting routine for your company's social channels effectively?
Those are some of the questions I'll be answering in today's episode.
Here's a list of websites mentioned in today's episode:

Listen. There's a good chance the person who designed your website doesn't know a whole lot about SEO. And for those that design sites AND that do know about SEO, that's usually an extra charge towards building/optimizing your site and are often overlooked.
Heading tags are important so that Google (and the other search engines) know what your website is all about. They help the search engines understand the content and place confidence in your ranking. Similarly, if your site is not optimized - or poorly optimized - with heading tags, Google may not understand what your site is all about and rather than show those querying Google your website (even if you've optimized for keywords), they may opt to down rank your site rather than take the chance of showing potentially irrelevant information to their users.
In today's episode, I talked a bit about why heading tags are so important and also how your site and blogs should be optimized with them.
The tool I talked about in today's episode was a Chrome (and Firefox) extension called Meta SEO Inspector and can be found by visiting this URL:

While we've known that this major algorithm update was coming, "we" is more in line with those in the marketing and SEO realm. Business owners who aren't in tune with SEO and improving their search engine rankings may not be as aware of it.
The long awaited Google Page Experience algorithm update is set to roll out in June of 2021. Ready to see some crazy rank changes?! If you've taken the opportunity to prepare your website, in advance of the update, you'll likely fare better than some of your competitors.
In today's episode, I talk about ways that you can prepare your website (or at least double check it if you've already begun optimizing) for what's coming.
Seriously though... Have you heard the Miley Cyrus song "Wrecking Ball"? "I came in like a wrecking ball".... You can surely bet that Google's algorithm update is going to come in "like a wrecking ball".
During the episode I talk about a couple of tools to help you. Here are the links to those tools:
This tool will help you identify whether your website's speed is optimized and how you can further improve on your site loading time: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
This link is for Google Analytics. Be sure to add the code to your website to gain powerful insights into what's happening on your website - and also, so you can verify your website ownership in Google Search Console:

This link is to Google Search Console. Set it up. Just do it. This tools is freaking amazing and if you're not keeping an eye on your website and any issues in here, you're already behind the competition. You can also see some other really cool stats in here along with ensuring that all of the pages on your website have been indexed by Google:

Facebook has recently released their new tool called Facebook Shops. It allows you to build a shop and sell either goods or gift certificates online through Facebook. Best part about it? You don't need to have a website to do this. If you're looking for another place to generate sales, I'd encourage you to hurry and get your shops set up as Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday are less than a week away...
