Jenny recently celebrated 2 years of sobriety and she shares her story with courage and strength in this episode. Jenny explains how she tried getting sober a couple times before this, but never reached this length of sobriety. She tells us the difference this time around is that she is getting clean and sober for herself.
We discuss the difficulties people can face when trying to get sober with their partner and what that looks like for a couple. Jenny describes her first drink at 11 years old, getting drunk and was blacking out drinking by the age of 13.
She ended up stealing thousands of dollars from her parents while in active addiction. Life started on a quick downward spiral as the relationship she was in escalated from heavy drinking to a mix of heavy drugging, to a suicide in her back yard on her 39th birthday.
This was not Jenny’s rock bottom, it got worse….
Jenny still likes the same music, but has added to her listening mix with some Faith based music.
