The Beijing Xiangshan Forum was held this week with 90 countries and organizations present with the theme of the forum being “Promoting Peace for a Shared Future”. The forum is meant to be a gathering to discuss security arrangements and challenges in the region but was actually a chance for Russia and China to argue for a security arrangement to counter and erode the West and not to promote peace.
