In 1975 Daniel E. Watford Sr. was appointed as the first Coordinator of Services to the U.S. Armed Forces in the Federal Republic of Germany, by and for the Church Of God In Christ. He was the administrative oversight of all COGIC ministries and congregations serving the military and their families in that country.
Elder Daniel E. Watford Sr. and his wife Rosemary joined the Childress Memorial COGIC in 1999. His children and grandchildren are also members of Childress Memorial. Daniel holds a BA in Political Science and Master of Public Administration degrees from the University of Texas, San Antonio. He is also a Certified Nonprofit Professional. Daniel culminated 30 years of service in the U.S. Army as the first Command Sergeant Major of the Financial Management Corps, Regiment and School.
Since retiring, Daniel has served as the Assistant to the Executive Director, Alamo Area Council of Governments and Executive Director, Community of Churches for Social Action in San Antonio, TX. He is a consultant in the disciplines of nonprofit management and leadership, and church administration. He also serves as the Administrator for Childress Memorial. Daniel’s ministry passion is for excellence in accountability and responsibility in service to God and society. To that end, he served as the co-project manager for constructing the Praise Cathedral of San Antonio worship complex, which replaced the facility that fire destroyed in February 2013 and was miraculously rebuilt.
