A song I wrote about our God of love, who knows us and loves us the same. Tim Keller wrote this which is the heart of it, “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”

This is what happens when you are musician who usually writes songs from the heart of God for others, and you tell Him after all these years that you’re kind of jealous He hasn’t written one for you.. this was His gift to me in response ❤️

I wrote this for a dear friend years ago, whose heart was breaking without anyone but me to really see. I remember sitting on the floor of my room, at a loss for words for her as silent tears streamed down my face.. I wanted to give her something.. either my tears, or the very heart of Jesus I felt beating in my chest. That is when this song came, and I’ll never forget how special it was to share it with her. I hope it will also bring comfort and consolation to your heart today in any area where you need the reassurance of God’s promise to never leave or forsake you. “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matt. 11:28
