With David, no one saw a king, but God saw a king. God is able to bring tremendous change in our lives. This change is a process. The change that causes us to find the assignement that God has for our lives comes with provision and blessing.  In Proverbs 10:22 says, "The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it and neither does toiling increasith." When we are working in the assignment the Lord has for us, the blessing of the Lord will cause us to be rich in all ways. Even Jesus increased in favor and stature with God and man (Luke 2:52). 

Whatever God has called you to do (even if it is more than one thing), as we accept that calling we come into agreement with our assignment from God. No matter how hard the enemy attacks, you might want to quit, but the Spirit of God will tell you to stay with it.  This was evidenced for David even in a time of great trial. In 1 Samuel 22:1-2 it says, "David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. So when his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him. And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him. David was in agreement with his assignment to be a leader, a King.
