Recently a 15-year-old Eldorado Park Secondary School pupil shocked many after he pointed a firearm at a teacher.

The number of reported cases of violence is school is very worrying, we need to try un pack and understand the cause for this….

Adele Koolen  - 

Adele Koolen started her career as a physiotherapist in 2004. She has a

BSc(Physiotherapy) from Wits University and in 2012 obtained her MSc(Med)

from Wits University. She practiced physiotherapy in private practice for 15 years

and travelled with numerous South African sporting sides.

In 2013, she visited a brow studio to have her eyebrows shaped and she was

completely taken by the brow specialist and what she was doing. Here started

the eyebrow obsession. Soon after Adele had her own microblading done, and

was so interested in it, that she decided to look into maybe doing it on the side

as a “hobby”.

In 2017, she kicked off her training first with the lash extension courses, training

in both classic and volume lashes. Shortly after she did the microblading course

and passed the 7 case studies. Other training courses included the dolly lash lift,

microshading and lash botox.  After spending a good 4 months of practicing on

latex skins, Adele was ready, and opened The Brow Spot in June 2017.  In July

2017, Adele did the PMU advanced eyeliner course, and in August 2017 enrolled

with PhiBrows for Microblading as she felt that she needed to train with the best

of the best if she wanted to be the best in the business. In February 2018, Adele

headed to Bangkok and did a master class in eyelash extensions with some of

the best lash artists in the world.

Kaapsehoop is a small hilltop town in Mpumalanga's highlands, just 30 minutes from Nelspruit. It’s the perfect stop over during a road trip to the southern Kruger, Maputo or the Panorama Route. It’s set in pine plantation country and overlooks the valley below. This quant village has a country-life air to it and is an ideal place for a day trip or an overnight visit with the family. As you drive into the town there is a sign that reads: "Kaapsche Hoop welcomes you: our place in the clouds, where children, wild horses and friends come to play." The locals retain a good sense of humour despite the lack of public roads here, all of the roads are dirt roads, or at least they were when I visited. Another sign reads: "Holey Road, please fasten seat belts and remove dentures".
