It's a tradition that the last episode of every season is me and my wife Tamsey reflecting together and sharing stories that will help you have a more hope-filled perspective. In this episode Tamsey shares a bit of her journey over the past year as her business as grown, and we together tell the story of how we were homeless a couple of times with our first child and were simply trying to follow the leading of God's voice!
Have you ever felt like you were being punished for doing the very thing you believed God was telling you to do? Have you ever wondered if there was a happy ending to the story after all? Our stories in this episode just might help you.
You can learn more about Tamsey's fitness business on her website (that I helped build initially) www.TamseySmithFitness.com and you can connect with her on her social accounts here FaceBook Instagram YouTube
With this episode talking about trusting God in the midst of heartbreak and maintaining a grateful attitude here are some posts from my blog to help you gain perspective.

Lisa Whittle is a best-selling author, speaker, teacher and podcaster but my favorite attributes about her are that she is a Pastor's kid who loves Jesus, is real, and is kind. With all she has going on Lisa has always found a way to pause and encourage me throughout the years and it has been a tremendous blessing to me. I'm so grateful she made time to jump on the podcast and talk about her new book "God Knows" and the companion study "Your God Knows" while also sharing some life wisdom on ministry and motivations.
Have you ever felt you had no idea what you had to offer that God could use? Have you feared you were missing the mark and letting God down? Lisa's stories and encouragments will give you a more hope-filled perspective.

My buddy Justin Porter is on the podcast this week... and this time, as a guest! After helping cohost the show for 2 years, Justin is on to bigger things and comes back to give an update on his journey. You will be challenged, inspired and impacted by the honest, transparent way in which Justin shares his journey. It has not been easy, but he helps us all find perspective through the way he has let the Lord teach him through this season of life where he has "failed forward" and is seeing how God takes broken dreams and makes them beautiful!
Have you ever felt like God has abandoned you? Have you ever felt like a failure and wanted to run and hide? Justin's story will give you hope, encouragement, and a more hope-filled perspective.

My amazing friend Ben Finch joins me this week from Athens, Tennessee where we talk about our 25 years of friendship, his amazing journey to becoming a world-renowned photographer, and how seminary almost made him lose his love for Jesus. You will be challenged, inspired and amazed as Ben shares stories from photographing weddings for the President's grand-daughter at the White House to almost becoming an NFL kicker. In all of it, Ben's faith in Jesus has lead him to steward what God has placed in his hands both inside and outside of the church.
Have you ever felt you had no idea what direction you were supposed to go with your life? Have you feared you were letting God down by doing something others felt was counter-productive? Ben's story will give you a more hope-filled perspective.

My buddy Carlton Beall joins me this week from Lebanon, Tennessee where we have a conversation about his fascinating entry into business and then how God challenged him to be intentional in his parenting. Carlton has been a true friend to me through the years and his generosity and example have challenged me to be a better man, husband and father. I believe his story will challenge you and inspire you, as well. When we live with legacy in mind, it changes what we prioritize and motives us to invest in the people and things that matter most. Carlton has done that and shares a bit of the story of "the fellowship" on this episode.
Have you ever felt you had more to offer but didn't know what to do? Have you wanted to make a lasting impact but weren't sure how? Carlton's story will give you a more hope-filled perspective.
You can connect with Carlton on Instagram here or swing by the Chick-Fil-A in Lebanon, TN and tell him you heard him on The Best View In Town podcast and that you want a free sandwich! I can't promise it will work, but it's worth a shot.

Donnie Floyd has one of the most amazing jobs in the world. He serves as the Chaplain for Hendrick Motorsports where he serves the hundreds of employees on the HMS team by caring for their spiritual and emotional needs. From baptizing people in the pond out front of the complex to walking with employees through tragedys and giving convocations before NASCAR races all around the country, Donnie shares his love for Jesus and people in the context of the racing world. JJ and Tiffany Johnson are some of my heroes. It's not just because they weathered a shark attack that took Tiffany's right arm, but because of how they have chosen to respond to that tragedy by stewarding the storm they faced and turning it into a ministry to glorify Jesus. My wife Tamsey joins me to interview this amazing couple. You will be shocked by both the intensity of their story and the intensity of their faith.
Have you ever wondered how to use your biggest set back as a setup for ministry? Have you wanted to know how to keep from being stuck when things are hard? The Johnson's story will give you a more hope-filled perspective.

Billy Graham was born and buried in Charlotte, North Carolina which is why the Billy Graham Library is located here. If you have never been you should definitely go as it is absolutely incredible.
My guest today, Wayne Atcheson, was the first director of the Library and is a lifelong lover of God with a heart for Revival. Wayne and I met a few years ago as result of having read his book about the 1970 Asbury Revival. Little did we know a couple of years after our meeting that again Revival Fire would visit Asbury and both he and I had to go see it for ourselves!
We talk about his amazing life, his book about Asbury and how God has used him at the Billy Graham Library in this episode.
