The New York City Police Department’s Employee Assistance Unit was created to promote officer wellness to the department's nearly 36,000 uniformed members and 15,000 civilians. Detective Ron Thomas is at the front lines of the department's efforts to promote mental health care and wellness. His partner though is the one who steals the show! K9 Piper is Det. Thomas’ four-legged partner and one of three emotional support K9s that the department has acquired to help officers and civilians alike.
