The Beta Report

Other than our smartphones, I don’t think there has been anything more culture defining than: Netflix. The media streaming giant has consistently poured out hit after hit, creating some of the most entertaining and memorable shows and movies of our time like Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black, Roma, and Bird Box, to name a few. Netflix has not only grown from a mere movie rental service, it is categorically shaping our history and rewriting the zeitgeist as we know it.

But, as Netflix continues to nab its share of A-List stars, Oscar worthy directors, and fueling our entertainment driven lives…is Netflix worth having in 2019? Is Netflix Studios and the quality of its TV Shows and Films enough to leave other streaming services or major movie studios behind? Listen in as The Beta Boys let you now if you should keep your Netflix subscription or if there are some more “Magical” options coming up in the future. All that, and so much more on this episode of The Beta Report.

Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Aquaman, Deadpool 2, Mission Impossible: Fallout, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Incredibles 2, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, Hereditary, Halloween, Ready Player One, SOLO, A Quiet Place, Bird Box, Roma, A Star is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody…2018 was a great year for entertainment! But with so much great, high-quality content endlessly flooding the entertainment landscape, what can we expect from 2019?

The Beta Boys, and yes, i do mean THE BETA BOYS (JAY, THE KON, and UNO!!!! are all in studio this week) layout their 2019 Entertainment Preview, scouring all platforms, movie studios, and TV Channels to compile what can easily turn out to be the best year in entertainment to date! Lofty claims? Click play and see if you agree with our must watch list for 2019.

The end is finally here. The Beta Report has to say goodbye…to Iron Man? Captain America? The Avengers as we know it? Avengers: Endgame’s trailer is here to bid farewell to our sanity. Listen as we break our heads trying to figure out what is going to happen to Tony, what’s up with Hawkeye’s new duds, and why wont they just buzz Ant-Man in?

Plus, another New Tune Tuesday, on Thursday, except when its on Friday!

Let’s try this again. We experienced some technical difficulties last week with the sound of the podcast, so we unfortunately had to pull it. Thank you to all of our friends and listeners who gave us a heads up about the episode. With that said, we had way too much to say about Captain Marvel to not address it one more time. So, here’s our (late) Captain Marvel Reaction Show! We give our first impressions and predictions for our new cosmic hero and what she means to the Avengers, namely one who might be stranded out in space as we speak.

Captain Marvel’s second trailer is here and its….Marvelous! Glorious puns abound! The Beta Boy’s react to the new trailer and and also weigh in on what Captain Marvel’s impact will be in the Avenger’s fight against Thanos. Has the balance of power shifted in our heroes favor?

We also try and predict if the new Avengers trailer will be released sometime this week. Listen to hear our predictions and make sure to stay until the end…there might be a hefty prize from The KON’s vault for a few lucky listeners.

From the deepest oceans to the clearest skies and everything in between, this December is jam packed with some highly anticipated movies that are sure to jingle our bells. From Aquaman to Marry Poppins, and even the body altering magic of Christian Bale in Vice, there is something that is sure to appeal to everyone this December.

We also have another New Tune Tuesday, On Thursday and Jay continues his moving watching tirade as he reviews the instant classic “The Christmas Chronicles” starring the legend, Kurt Russell. All that and so much more, on this week’s episode of The Beta Report.

Oye, a llegado un neuvo narco al Neh-flis, y bueno, está cañon. Asi que no manchen hijos de su amada madre y disfruten nuestra reseña de Narcos: Mexico.

And, for our non-spanish speaking friends: There’s a new cartel on Netflix that is ready to take over your binge watching territory. The KON and Uno give their review of Narcos: Mexico, and even get a little help from a very special guest on the TBR Hotline.

The Beta Boys also lose their minds as Jay went to the theater, 3 times(!!!) to watch three of the TOP 5 movies in theaters this week. All that and so much more on this week’s episode of The Beta Report.

The Beta Bros get you ready for the weekend with two brand new reviews for movies to see in theaters or if you’d like to stay in and catch some Netflix. Jay reviews the highly anticipated Netflix film Outlaw/King. Is this better than Braveheart? The KON then reviews the new Bad Robot action horror film: Overlord. Could this be the best action movie of the year?

We’ve also got another New Tune Tuesday, On Thursday, a PICK OF THE WEEK, and so much more. All that on this Thursday (ON FRIDAY) episode of The Beta Report.

To the man, the myth, the legend…this episode is dedicated to the late great Stan Lee. Listen as The Beta Bros talk about the legend’s life and his impact on popular culture.

I guess one person, can make a difference.

‘Nuff said.

Its dead. Its gone. Its not like the zombies on TV. This time, what’s dead, stays dead…or will it? In all honesty, The Walking Dead has been a little stale for quite sometime now. As Uno so eloquently put it, off the air: “The premise is, stay alive. After 7 years, it gets old.” And while true, this premise has been a little tired, what made TWD so compelling were its characters and not their specific circumstances. Enter Judith Grimes! Can she be enough for fans to once again loyally scavenge and survive week to week like we did before? The Beta Bros dissect the current state of The Walking Dead and AMC’s current plan to send Rick Grimes on a three part movie adventure away from his new zombie slaying family.

Plus, we got a brand new PICK OF THE WEEK and a re-visit of last week’s New Tune Tuesday on Thursday featuring Adam Cruz’s “Role Modelz Wanted”. All that and so much more, on this week’s episode of The Beta Report.
