Is God really more precious than Gold to us? Do we treat God as something precious and dear to us, more-so than our possessions? Dave explores these ideas and challenges us to keep God front and foremost in our lives.

David's challenge was to live like the gospel is a contagion, spread it, let God's love shine out of our lives and of our community.

Andy led us through the Easter message and also baptism.

Jesus came to battle the 'gods' of the age, for example, politically challenging the entrance of Pilate on his stallion into the West side of Jerusalem, by entering from the East on a donkey. Jesus invites us to partner with him in battling the god of this age - the god in our hearts, the god of self. The constant struggle against our sinful nature is the struggle where we must give the 'throne' to Jesus - let him sit on the decision seat. Jesus conquers sin, by giving up his rightful claim to be King and overcomes his battle with his own sinful nature.

The encouragement this week was to keep our eyes on Jesus, to try to avoid being distracted by innocent looking things and to continue to support each other and help people that fall away. Based on Matthew 13 The parable of the Sower.

Maurice explores the origins of Mothering Sunday, how it was a momentary window of light and lifting the 'restrictions of lent' and tied it in to the situations and reactions of Elizabeth & Zechariah and Mary in Luke 1.

Tony encourages the family at Old Trafford to continue on supporting each other in the way that Tony and family were supported through their recent tough experience.

Mark Explores 1 John 1 "We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete."

We are all one in Christ Jesus, and Pete reminds us of our unity and strength even within our diversity.
