Why did Jesus have to die?

You and I are sinners.

The wages of our sin is death.

Jesus came to die for you.

God raised him from the dead. He lives—now we can live too.

Can I believe God when life doesn’t make sense?

Can I trust God when I can’t explain Him?

Why should I serve God?

Is God enough?

• Can you explain my creation?
• Can you control my creation?
• Can you conquer my creation?

We may not understand God’s ways. We cannot prevent the purposes God has for us.

Suffering is not always the result of sin.

Sometimes God uses suffering to protect and teach us.

Part of making things right with God is making things right with others.

God is the one writing the chapters of our life. And he uses everything to cause us to know him better and understand him in a deeper way.

Is God Enough?

YES!

When God is all you have, God is all you need.

• Can you explain My creation? (38:1-38)
• Can you control My creation? (38:39 – 39:30)
• Can you conquer My creation? (40:6 – 41:34)

When God speaks, he doesn’t hold back.

God is in complete control.

We learn from Job that God doesn’t explain himself—he doesn’t need to explain himself.

Is Jesus enough?

Is it possible that God uses suffering to bring us to Himself?

Is it possible that God uses suffering to teach us?

Is it possible that God uses suffering to protect us?

Is it possible that suffering produces great spiritual benefits?

Sometimes God uses suffering to protect and teach us.

2. God is Just

If God is unjust, He is not God.

If God were unjust, there would be no justice on earth.

Any man can sing in the day. It is easy to sing when we can read the notes by daylight; but he is the skillful singer who can sing when there is not a ray of light by which to read.

3. God is Great

Don’t get angry and bitter toward God.
Don’t look for a shortcut and miss what God is teaching you.
Don’t even think about taking your life.
Don’t turn from God and turn to sin.

Can I believe God when life doesn’t make sense?

Can I trust God when I can’t explain Him?

Why should I serve God?

Is God enough?

Will I offer my suffering to God for His redemptive purposes?

Suffering is not always the result of sin.

Suffering is ultimately between the sufferer and God.

As tempting as it is there is great danger in living backwards—longing for the past.

1. All suffering is not the result of sin.

2. God is sovereign.

3. Comfort and encourage those who are suffering.
