The Bible Room

We journey through the books of Kings and Chronicles moving from the incredible rise of Solomon to the absolute pain of watching the nation split and then both Judah and Israel spiral in idolatry and injustice until both face exile. The Temple is built and God's glory fills it, but we end in it's destruction as the people forsake the covenant for so many generations.

In Episode 4 we journey through the dark days of the judges until we the people ask for a king. The kingdom is established through Saul, but God will raise up a king after his own heart.

In episode 3 we explore the Exodus, the great story of God's redemption of Israel, the Law is given and the importance of the passover and the Day of Atonement will be explored as the nation is being prepared in the wilderness to dwell with God in their midst

In this next episode we explore the rest of the book of Genesis, focussing on God's covenant to Abraham, the beginnings of his family and the arrival into Egypt through Joseph. God's heart to bless the nations through the blessing given to Abraham will be introduced and begin to take shape

In this first Episode of "The Story of Scripture" we explore Genesis 1-3. The window into life with God in the Garden of Eden, the resulting rebellion of humanity and God's response. These chapters that take us back to "the beginning" are extremely formative for of our understanding of God, ourselves and this world.

In this introductory episode Steven share the motivations behind launching this new podcast and the growing desire in the church to understand and know their bigger place in the great story of God.
