Every knee shall bow. Every tongue shall confess. We love to say that to unbelievers — but look at who Paul is actually writing to.

The goal for believers in the body of Christ is unity — not uniformity. Those two things are not the same, and confusing them has created more division in the church than almost anything else.

In this episode, Pastor Randy Johnson continues through Romans 14, showing why disputable matters exist in the first place and what believers are supposed to do with them. Jews came to faith in Christ carrying centuries of dietary laws, feast days, and ceremonial rhythms. Gentiles came with none of that background. Paul's answer wasn't to make them identical — it was to call them to something deeper than uniformity.

Because both the strong faith believer and the weak faith believer have the same master — the Lord Jesus Christ — and He alone is the one before whom they stand or fall.

Most people would describe a person of strong faith as someone with a long list of things they don't do. The Apostle Paul would disagree — and his definition might surprise you.

In this episode, Pastor Randy Johnson opens up Romans 14 and walks through one of the most misunderstood passages in Paul's letters. According to Scripture, weak faith is what requires more external rules and regulations. Strong faith — faith that has learned to walk in the Spirit and recognize the voice of God — needs fewer.

That's not a license for carelessness. It's a description of maturity.

Paul is writing to two audiences who had real friction over real differences — Jewish believers with a lifetime of dietary laws and feast days, and Gentile believers coming out of entirely different backgrounds. His instruction to both sides is the same: stop judging each other over disputable matters.

The one who eats freely is not to despise the one who abstains. The one who abstains is not to judge the one who eats. God has welcomed them both — and that settles the question of who has the authority to condemn.

Israel stumbled. But stumbling is not the same as falling — and Paul wants both Jewish and Gentile believers to understand exactly why the distinction matters.

In this episode, Pastor Randy Johnson works through Romans 11, unpacking one of the most overlooked arguments in all of Paul's letters. Israel's rejection of Jesus wasn't a failure of God's plan — it was the very mechanism by which salvation reached the Gentiles. Through their trespass, riches came to the world. And if their failure produced that much, what will their full inclusion mean?

Paul then introduces the olive tree — one of Scripture's most powerful images of how God's people are defined. Natural branches broken off through unbelief. Wild branches grafted in through faith. One tree. One root. One Lord. And a warning to Gentile believers not to grow arrogant, because the same faith that grafted them in is the only thing keeping them there.

The episode closes with a mystery Paul doesn't want his readers to miss — Israel's hardening is partial and temporary. It lasts until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And then, the Deliverer will come from Zion.

God has consigned all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

Israel had the law, the covenants, the promises, and the patriarchs. The Gentiles had none of it. And yet it was the Gentiles who attained the righteousness Israel was pursuing — because they received it by faith rather than trying to earn it by works.

That's the stunning reversal Paul unpacks in Romans 9 and 10, and it leads him to one of the most important declarations in all of Scripture.

Being born into a Christian family doesn't make you a Christian. Being descended from Abraham doesn't make you a child of Abraham. God has sons and daughters — but He has no grandsons.

Every June, millions of people type the same question into Google: is homosexuality a sin? After 45 years of ministry, I’ve come to believe that’s the wrong question.

It’s an honest question, and it deserves an honest answer. But it’s too small — because “is THIS a sin?” keeps the conversation safely aimed at other people. The question Jesus forces on every one of us is bigger, and far more personal.

Most believers know they should overcome sin. Far fewer understand that God never expected them to do it alone — or in their own strength.

Romans 8 is Paul's great chapter on the Holy Spirit, and at its core is a truth that changes how you approach every temptation, every struggle, every moment of weakness. God has not left you to fight with willpower. He has given you His Spirit — the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead — and that Spirit now lives in you.

Romans 8 doesn't build slowly toward its conclusion. It arrives like a verdict that was never in question — and then dares anyone to challenge it.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation? Distress? Persecution? Famine? Danger? Death itself? Paul's answer is not a careful theological argument. It's a defiant declaration. Nothing in all creation can do it.

In this episode, Pastor Randy Johnson works through Romans 8:12-39, covering some of the most personally meaningful ground in all of Paul's letters. The Spirit of adoption who lets you cry Abba Father. The creation groaning under futility while waiting for the sons of God to be revealed. Paul has established that the believer is dead to sin and alive to God. Now he gets intensely practical. What do you actually do with that truth every day?

The answer comes in the form of a choice — and Paul frames it as the most fundamental choice a human being can make. Whatever you present yourself to, you become a slave to. Present yourself to sin and sin masters you. Present yourself to God and righteousness begins to shape everything you are.

In this episode, Pastor Randy Johnson works through Romans 6:8-23, unpacking what it means to actively present your members as instruments of righteousness rather than instruments of sin. This isn't about earning favor with God — justification is already settled. This is about which master you choose to serve with the freedom Christ has given you.

Paul closes with one of the most quoted contrasts in all of Scripture. The wages of sin is death. The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. One is what you earn. The other is what you receive.

The difference between those two words — wages and gift — is the difference between two entirely different ways of relating to God.
