Argentina cruised past Croatia with Messi rolling back the years to get them to his second World Cup final, in his last World Cup with France made to work for a hard fought win against surprise semi finalists Morocco. Argentina now meet France in the final in a game that sees Messi take on Mbappe, both going in with 5 goals at vying for the Golden Boot.

We look at the quarter final results with England crashing out to France after a late penalty miss by Kane whilst Morocco continue shocking the world with another hard fought win, this time against Ronaldo's Portugal, sending Ronaldo out of his last World Cup. On the other side of the World Cup tree Croatia held Brazil over 120 minutes and saw themselves through on penalties whilst Netherlands came back from 2 down to take Argentina to penalties but failed from the spot with Emi Martinez shining once again during a shoot-out.

The final weekend of Premier League action before the World Cup break saw Arsenal capitalise on Manchester City's loss to Brentford at the Etihad by beating Wolves away later that day to take them 5 clear of City in second. Chelsea lost at Newcastle to go into the break 8th, having lost 3 in a row whilst Spurs had to fight back again with a last minute winner, this time against Leeds who took the lead three times in the game and left with nothing. Manchester Utd's young star Garnacho scored a last minute winner at Fulham whilst Liverpool saw off Southampton with a couple goals from Darwin Nunez.

Heading into the final weekend of fixtures before the World Cup break the panel discuss the fall out of this weeks League Cup fixtures and take a look at the weekend with Chelsea at Newcastle and Man Utd visiting Fulham in difficult away trips. Arsenal look to continue there momentum at Wolves with Man City welcoming Brentford to the Etihad. Tottenham host Leeds and Liverpool entertain Southampton in the remaining fixtures for GW16.
