In this video, Bobby returns after a 4-year hiatus from the Gatekeepers, to discuss the frightening face of the Democratic Party, which we can see now because the mask fell off in the wake of the 2024 election. Joined by British friend, Giles, Bobby discusses multiple dimensions of what has been exposed of the Democratic Party's distorted worldview, as best visualized by watching clips of the reliably hateful, distorted, and mean-spirited Joy Reid:

-The liberal movement to cut off family members who voted for Trump
-The lack of any self-awareness or remorse for the various demographic groups that the Democrats have knowingly or unwittingly alienated, such as Latinos, Black people, people with criminal records, working-class whites, and many more
-The Democrats' belittling and dehumanizing of people who have criminal records, and their glad weaponization of bureaucracy and law to inflict suffering on people who did nothing to them
-The shocking disregard for the economic pains felt by people of Generation X
-The racism against Hispanics, most disgustingly embodied in calls for Hispanic Trump voters to see their relatives deported

Giles brings a uniquely British angle to complement Bobby's Puerto Rican perspective, and they both ponder what it will take for a British Trump to appear.

Bobby and Jeff focus on the 1980s dystopian films and ask what we can learn from the moment in cinema history.

Why in the heart of the Reagan era did so many blockbuster films not only entertain the masses with harrowing tales of a miserable future, but also provoke them to question the legitimacy of their own civilization?

At the core of Anglo-Saxon concepts of progress lies the Scientific Revolution. But the Scientific Revolution depended on a deep faith in human beings’ ability to record, observe, predict, project, and plan.

The greatest dystopian films of the 80s all involved plots that threw out such faith. From the gasoline-starved wasteland of the Road Warrior to the robotic hellscape of Blade Runner, Terminator, and Robocop, this genre challenged audiences to confront the possibility that Western civilization can’t foresee the consequences of its technological choices.

Not only do the films cast doubt upon the likely survival of Anglo-Saxon civilization; they also undermine that civilization’s claim to rationality and order, opening viewers to the possibility that the West is not a true civilization at all.
