Meat N' Bone is an Online Butcher Shop offering more than 300 meats in Beef, Pork, Poultry, Lamb, Fish & Seafood. Luis Mata had the spark idea for Meat N’ Bone and co-founded it with German Vollbratch and Gabriel LLaurado in 2018. His passion for a good steak and frustration with the lack of quality in Miami led Luis to recruit 2 of his best friends to start what is now one of America’s coolest butcher shops, serving the highest quality meats in Miami and all over the US. Meat N' Bone is not your average butchery. Luis and his team, having a tech background, implemented a proprietary software which helps them maximize their inventory management and logistics.

Today's conversation is a panel discussion with local Miami tech facilitators and professionals on the rise and importance of Black Women in the tech space. Our co-host, Tami, sits down with Watsco Ventures tech engineer, Shablé Harris; Nirva Bousiquot, founder of Silks Roads product distribution company; and Jessyka Castillo, co-lead of Black Women Talk Tech Miami chapter with Nirva. Traditionally, technology has been a male dominated space yet throughout history, we have come to learn about Black women who have led powerful tech careers such as Valerie Thomas and Dr. Patricia Bath. According to the National Center For Women & Information Technology study, women of color made up only about 11% of the computing and mathematical workforce in 2019, with Black women only comprising 3% of the total. These numbers are changing for the better, yet slowly. There is a risk of missing out on voices and talent that can move the industry forward. And if we want to truly shift the tech landscape, representation is imperative.

Join us as we speak with three leaders who have turned "co-working upside down" with accelerator programs, educational workshops, mental health efforts, and even virtual communities like no other! Led by Nikki Cabus, VP at Palm Beach Association, today's guests are: Shana Ostrovitz, Executive Director at 1909; Tim Hasse, Founder of General Provision, and Rachael Bickford, Managing Director at The LAB Miami. Co-working spaces have grown in popularity over the last decade and many people wonder if they are just a fad? The average co-working space is simply intended for remote workers or freelances to have a place to go, get out of the house, and share resources such as a printer or wifi. This industry has changed drastically. Traditional co-working has given birth to a new way of thinking . . . to communities with values that help individuals grow, for freelancers to connect and gain resources, a place for startup founders to scale their businesses, and for tech professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs to feel empowered through their journey.
