We have kicked off the 26th WHO Radio Tractor Ride headquartered out of Marshalltown! Bob and David join us from today's lunch stop at Goos Implement in Gladbrook, IA joined by some of our riders, sponsors, and FFA members helping serve lunch. To start the show, Gladbrook Reinbeck FFA President Delaney Petersen and Secretary Hudson Clark talk about their involvement in FFA, the makeup of their chapter including their non-farm kids, and how they're helping serve lunch to today's riders. The Dennis Gienger from Tama County Pork Producers gives us some insight on today's meal being served: tenderized pork loins. As he pulls into the lunch stop, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig joins us to talk about the ride so far today and brags a bit about the machinery from Van Wall Equipment he rode in on. One of our youngest riders this year, Pella FFA student Calleigh Vander Wilt, won yesterday's drawing for a set of Goodyear Farm Tractor Tires and tells us about the restoration project she plans to use them on. Ben Goos from Goos Implement tells us about the history of their shop since opening in 1959 and the equipment they have to offer. David Geiger is joined to end the first hour by a representative from the Mid Iowa Antique Power Show information on how to enter the raffle at this year show Ride to win a 1948 Massey-Harris 22. We kick off hour two of The Big Show with 17-time Tractor Rider from Riverside, CA "Hippie Dave" talking about his tractor off choice this year: a 1958 Farmall 450 High Crop. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig elaborates on the importance of passing down the family heritage and love of tractors from generation to generation and the wonders of parading tractors across the countryside. David Geiger was able to chat his morning with West Marshall FFA Co-Vice President Lily Fischer about the breakfast they were serving and talked about some of her favorite tractors she saw this morning, old and new. Gary and Nick Hoefling from Midwest Ag & Urban tell us about the equipment they have on site at Tractor Ride this week and about all of the things they're able to fix up at their shop in Spencer, IA. Scott Sloan from Titan Tire tells us about their setup at the Central Iowa Fairgrounds and tonight's dinner for the Tractor Riders. Iowa Farm Bureau is another one our sponsors for this year's Ride and President Brent Johnson is on talking tractors with us. Our old Tractor Ride buddy Skip Sagar ends today's show with Bob talking about retirement his involvement this year.
