IPPA CEO Pat McGonegle gives his pitch for people interested in getting into the pork industry and talks about promoting exporting pork to overseas markets. Kody Havens with the Coalition dives into the things he talks with farmers about when he visits their farm to make a game plan for what they need on their farm. Cory Van Gilst, Producer Outreach Director with the IPPA, tells us what got him interested in working in the pork industry and what the Pork Producers do to help local communities including Pork in the Pantry. We close up shop for the week with Hannah Spurr, IPPA Consumer Outreach Director, with an update on the progress of the new Iowa Pork Tent at the Iowa State Fairgrounds!

It's a Farming for the Future Friday with the Coalition to Support Iowa's Farmers and the Iowa Pork Producers Association! Bob joins them live at the IPPA headquarters in Clive, IA talking about all things related to getting into the pork industry and planning for a successful future. We start off the show with CSIF Executive Director Brian Waddingham discussing the programs to help get new farmers started in agriculture and expresses the optimism for the pork industry. IPPA Director of Public Policy Ben Nuelle talks about what they are doing to voice pork producers concerns to politicians including visits to Washington D.C. including discussions with the entire Iowa delegation in the House and Senate. Grace Christensen, an Animal Science Graduate Assistant at Iowa State and former Iowa Pork intern, talks about her path into the pork industry once she graduates and the upcoming Animal Learning Day on April 15 to teach people about where their food comes from! And, CSIF's Hope Brecht brings us the information on the Coalition's program to help get windbreaks installed on Iowa farmers' land.
