Turns out someone was listening  (Big Mac) and in fact there was such an Organization. The Downed Bikers Association of Oklahoma, with 6 chapters. Shawn, known by his road name "Rabies" (yes there's a story there) sat down with us for an hour and we learned just what they are all about.
