On Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, Bill Corrigan passed away from complications related to ALS, aka Lou Gehrig's Disease. This site is a compilation of the various recorded conversations Bill & I had over the time I have been honored to be his coach. The first two conversations were released on the Running on Purpose podcast & are more related to running training, especially the Q&A episode (Episode 4 here) that was recorded on March 2020 just before things shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The second conversation here was recorded in November 2023 after Bill had been living with ALS for a few years. Episodes 1 & 2 were the beginning of a project that didn't meet its intended goal. We'd hoped to record a series of interviews with Bill on topics related to his life & his living with ALS as a audio journal of his experience. We recorded these two conversation in the early summer of 2024, just before Bill went on an extended roadtrip around the US in his specially retrofitted van.  Unfortunately, when Bill returned he was pretty tired & we never got back to continuing on with these conversations. I really wish I had made a more concerted effort at recording more of his insights & experiences. As all who knew Bill are aware of, he is a great storyteller & he had many more stories that will only carry on in the hearts & minds of those who heard & lived them. 
I hope you'll enjoy these conversations as a glimpse into a small portal on the Bill Corrigan Experience. I was honored to attend the burial of Bill just this week & I shared with those who were there that I have always believed there was a deep resonance between my understanding of the word incorrigible & Bill's last name. I am one for a reinterpretation of the dictionary definition of incorrigible which is "a person not able to be corrected, improved or reformed". To me there is an implied sense of humor & soft edge to my understanding of the word, especially in relation to how it might be descriptive of Bill. All who knew him were deeply aware his lovingkindness as a stubborn commitment to keep going & honor life. In these conversations, we address two of Bill's favorite statements of purpose: Run Through the Tape, as he exhorted in a speech in Austin to raise awareness & money for ALS & Stay In The Arena, a term I coined to encourage every athlete that I coach to realize that there is always the chance of a second wind to help us make it through the final, unbearable miles. In his final few months, Stay In The Arena was a rallying cry for Bill & I to make the most of every moment he had left with his loved ones. I leave you with the same mission: Stay in the Arena in honor of Bill's beautiful life. Deeply savor the limited time you have on this planet to live & love.
