  • The Pain that Leaders and Employees Live With on a Daily Basis

Today I use my words as a mirror to help you see the pain that leaders and employees live with on a daily basis. All of this pain can contribute to a fairly unfulfilling work and life experience. Creating a fulfilling work environment starts with leaders. As a leader, whether you focus on culture or not, you are creating one.

The Gallup Organization reported in 2016, 33% of U.S. employees were involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to their work and workplace. In that same time frame, 51% of employees were disengaged. Disengaged employees are putting in time, but not contributing with all of their heart. Engagement with your employees matters. Company cultures that reflect a positive environment matters too. It begins with you. You can create cultures that produce higher engagement and retain top shelf talent is my passion. I'd love to help.

In this episode, you'll hear about:

    • The story of a successful tech company faced with toxic culture and a turnover rate of 35%

    • How actively disengaged employees can attribute to a toxic company culture

    • Why employee engagement matters to your company and your bottom line

  • How Leaders Can Help Their Employees Become More Committed to the Workplace and Vision

I've always been an entrepreneurial type. Translation: I've been one that doesn't always function well under the leadership of others. In this episode, I share how some of my own personal early experiences with leadership shaped my leadership worldview. You'll hear firsthand how leaders can help a person grow, gently uncover weaknesses and help their employees to become more committed to the workplace and vision.

I'll also share briefly about my own start as a leader and how my view on leadership has evolved over time. Above all else, I have come to realize that leadership has brought me to a greater appreciation of people. Great leaders create cultures that proactively recharge their employees and company.

In this episode, you'll hear about:

    • My first leader and how I was, "stealing from her business"

    • The leader who was uninvolved until a mistake was made

    • Being a passive leader and my early experience as a leader

    • What angers me the most about leadership

  • Why I'm Passionate About Helping Leaders Create Authentic and Engaging Workplaces

Are you stuck in a job and or life story you despise? Through this podcast, I'd love to help you change your story into one you can be proud of and look back on with admiration and gratitude. Speaking of stories, I'd like to share my story with you, today.

I'll start by letting you in on a fun fact about me. I've been talking professionally for almost all of my life. Yes, seriously. At the age of 12, I received my first paycheck for speaking. I was the youngest person in the South East to pass the FCC 3rd Class Radio Licensing Exam.

I've always used my words to get opportunity and to build relationships. My life has been marked by performance, from drama to comedy and everything in between. I was best known for my Steve Martin impression in high school. Now, those are just some of the highlights. My diverse vocation history has given me a unique perspective on life and leadership, which I go into a bit more in this episode.

I also share with you the reason why I have started this podcast, which is to help people make change in life and in the workplace. I am passionate about helping leaders create authentic and engaging workplaces that offer a more fulfilling work experience for their team members.

In this episode, you'll hear about:

    • My stint as a frontman for a hair band, think Van Halen

    • What my Myers-Briggs profile says about me

    • I didn't graduate from high school, not in the traditional sense

    • My unique and vast vocation history

    • Why work experience is more a function of culture and collaboration

    • My why for this podcast and my promise to you
