Meet the incredible Sarah Goldberg in this incredible journey into birth's true calling.
Let's allow her to introduce herself.....
SARAH GOLDBERG
Nurtured Birth was born in 2010 when I returned to Australia after 15 years of living abroad. In that time I had travelled, lived, loved, studied, worked and become a mum. Deeply experiencing life among many people and cultures.
In 2006 after all the travelling I settled down and became a mother to my beautiful boy who was born at home in the mountains of Peru. His birth was one of the most challenging and glorious experiences of my life, showing me the depths of who I am and the challenges birth and early mothering bring. I have journeyed with difficult times postnatally which has enabled me to share this empathy in my work.
During my 5 years living in Peru I had the privilege to be exposed to ancient birthing traditions and holistic wisdom. I became fascinated by pregnancy and birth. Through my own birth experience and what I saw on my return to Australia, I realised there was a gap between what today’s birth culture offers and what women need for healthy, positive birth experiences. I felt intensely drawn to offer holistic and nurtured support to fill this gap which is so vulnerable.
My background in holistic care began with my training in 1999. I studied in a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, relaxation, traditional Thai and Ayurvedic massage. I undertook many years of meditation practice and training. Holistic healing, body awareness, Reiki and mindfulness deeply underpin all my practice. As a certified massage therapist I focused my skills in pregnancy, induction, breech position, labour and postnatal body work.
Nurtured Birth has come full circle since its inception. It has grown organically to support a collective vision and passion, attracting people who bring their special blend of wisdom and support to Nurtured Birth. Over the hundreds of births I’ve attended and the thousand plus women the clinic has supported, this has become so much more than I ever anticipated and imagined. But it only goes to show it was satiating a deep need in our birthing culture today in Melbourne.

Welcome to Episode 7 and meet the AMAZING Ros McDonough from www.hellobabymidwifery.com.au
Hi, I'm Ros McDonough, and I've been a registered and practicing midwife in South Australia since 1994, working at the Queen Elizabeth and Women’s and Children’s Hospitals in Adelaide. I began my career as a Registered Nurse in 1988. More recently, I received my Childbirth and Parent Education certification (2015) and Masters of Midwifery (2017).
I believe that every woman deserves attentive, evidence-based and informative care and I am delighted to offer these midwifery services to women without the strict time constraints common in the public health system.
I began Hello Baby! Midwifery because I wanted women to be able to access care that matched their needs, rather than just the bare minimum or fragmented, indifferent care.
We always take the time to listen to our clients and make sure they’re really heard – there’s nothing quite like working with a midwife who knows you and has been with you every step of the way.
Women should be enabled by knowledge, choice, support and encouragement to activate and realise their innate strength – this is how we’ll work with you at Hello Baby! Midwifery.
I believe that being a midwife is a privilege. It is a privilege to be used as a resource by other women and their partners; to be a catalyst for their self-growth and a conduit to a life-changing, life-giving experience.
I can’t wait to support you and your family.
Meet the AMAZING Kate Eakin in her weaving the magic of lessons through the power of her birth story that led her to finding her purpose. A Hypnobirthing Australia™ practitioner and Childbirth Educator who openly tells of her two very different birth experiences that taught her just how important it is for birthing couples to have support, knowledge and tools to navigate the system and achieve a positive birth experience.
She takes us on a journey through her first birth, which was at the hospital, and shares a few tips on what all mums should know going into their birth.
Kate then takes us, in more depth, into her second birth, which ended up being an accidental breech, homebirth. She credits hypnobirthing techniques and tools to how well the birth went and how well she and her husband were able to cope with the constant pressure of these special circumstances in the lead up to the birth.
It was this turn of events that persuaded Kate to become a Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner, so she could educate and support other couples so they too could be informed and understand their rights as birthing parents to have a positive birth experience with no regrets.

Meet the Amazing Vicki Hobbs and hear her personal message to you below...
Hi everyone, I am excited to being sitting on the Birth Lounge and sharing my thoughts with you. I believe I am one in a long line of wise and experienced women who bring calm and clarity to the birth space, so you can feel safe, supported and listened to.
I have had my business since 2004 and I am a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist specialising in Pregnancy Massage & Maternity Care, Childbirth Educator, Aromatherapist, Birth & Postpartum Doula, Meditation Instructor, Life Coach, Sound Healer, Reiki & Energy Practitioner, Hypnotherapist, Hypnobirthing Australia Practitioner and Thought Field Therapy (TFT) Practitioner just to name a few of the modalities I offer.
I believe in change and that what works for one person may not work for the next, so we have to be open to change and adapt our skills and treatment for the person we are working with – we are all individuals and can’t all be governed by a text book or be put into the same boxes just because that is how it has always been done.
My Mission is to help couples see pregnancy and birth as a normal event, but to also bring them closer together as a couple on all levels, as they learn more about themselves, their partners and their role as a parent and the change in dynamics of becoming a family. I help them create a magical moment of love, acceptance, endurance and belief.
I am really grateful that my extensive training provides me with the knowledge, skills and experience to treat and support women during all stages of their pregnancy, including high risk mums, and prepare them for a positive, calm birth no matter how their baby is born.

Meet the incredible Lauren McLean from https://www.inbirthandbeyond.com.au/
Hi mama /mama to be, my name is Lauren, and I'm a Lake Macquarie based chai loving, pink lover, low-tox/eco living pre/postnatal yoga teacher and Hypnobirthing Australia™ practitioner. I believe that all women and their birth partners deserve to step into their birth feeling confident and excited. I love being able to share amazing tools, knowledge, preparation with women and birth partners while being their supporter the whole way through their pregnancy journey. Pregnancy and birth can come with a lot of fears and unknowns, especially when it's how society has conditioned us to view birth, however birth doesn't have to be that way, and I certainly don't want it to be for you, because let's be honest there's a reason you've landed here, and it's most likely because you want a positive birth, to do things differently, to have birth partner support, and to really step into your own power. I am continually excited to watch a birth team go through their own journey of changing perceptions about birth in just a few short weeks together, which is only just the beginning of the journey.
I have also used the Hypnobubs™ program myself which allowed me to develop confidence and trust in myself and my body, while also giving me the tools to remain completely calm to birth my baby. For me, birth was a beautiful, empowering and life changing experience, and I honest believe that YOU can feel that way about your birth too.
As well as being a certified Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area I am also a graduate of the University Of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Business and am a qualified yoga teacher having completed both 300 and 200 hour programs plus pre/postnatal training. I have been teaching students in the Lake Macquarie area for the last 8 years and have been blessed to witness the benefits of the practice to many. I have just recently become an ambassador of Optimal Maternal Positioning, and have loved sharing these techniques.
Are you wanting to be as prepared and knowledgeable about birth as you can, or maybe you are fearful of the “pain” that your friends and family describe birth to be? Are you wanting to connect with your body and baby and even your birth partner on a deeper level? Do you know birth is all about choice but need some clarity in forming your preferences, or you have special circumstances and want to know your options? Are you overwhelmed mentally and emotionally about birth and need a little support to create a positive outlook? Have you experienced birth trauma or your previous birth experience/s haven’t gone to plan and you’d like to take back your power next time around? Even if you're just not sure but wanting to give something a go, this program is definitely for you. The way I see it, birth is like a marathon, you can’t just show up and expect to have the right tools to win the race.
Want to connect with the Amazing Lauren
